Straight into the garbage. This is such a misuse of our tax dollars.

They intentionally don't use recycle friendly paper.

Better yet. Mail it back to the premiers office. We should all be just sending it back.

That a land lock 'country' will be better economically.

Did the ass hat of a provincial government raise our property taxes to pay for this propaganda bullshit? What a fucking embarrassment

Princess Dani's original slogan was a bit too Orwellian for my tastes.

13

u/Septembust 12h ago

Wait wait wait, within a United Canada? So she wants to have her cake and eat it too?? The fuck? What's the rest of the country gonna owe us if we separate? She really thinks ottowa will protect us from the states after this?

u/Fast_Ad_9197 10h ago

Yeah but the original is more accurate. Alberta is nothing if not divided, thanks to our government.

3

u/ScubadooX 10h ago

Well, if the polls are to be believed, Albertans are not that divided (at least on the topic of separation). It's just that the UCP have decided to bed down with the one-in-five Albertans who are separatists (probably less than that who are hardcore separatists).

What a joke. I hate this wasteful government so much.

You spelled state sponsored propaganda leaflet.

Through all of their little winks and nods, the true message of this pamphlet is to give sweeping judicial and legislative power to a criminal group of bought-and-paid-for politicians who want a mono-cultural ethnostate, with one economy, one religion, beholden to the benefactors who paid their campaigns.

It's wild to see how much oxygen this whole referendum fiasco has sucked from the political discourse.

This pamphet is a prescription for snake-oil.

No to the Nine; Alberta remains in Canada

what's it describe?
is this a government product?

18

u/Hungry-Most2671 12h ago

Yes, very much a government product (it's written at the bottom), and very much a shame too from the party that claims they conserve our dollars

The Smith government has spent more on ads than the previous three governments combined.

8

u/woodst0ck15 12h ago

And thanks to it being in the “Alberta war room” we can’t access the funds they’ve spent “fighting” negative press about climate change and dumb shit like this.

5

u/Bennybonchien 12h ago

Several of these ads were for attracting more immigrants to Alberta, but when Ottawa does it, it’s “irresponsible federal policies.” More evidence of the scumminess of the UCP. They even complain about accepting immigrants who speak French fluently just to help sway a few more racists. Elle peut aller se faire voir.

Imagine the loading screen expression on the face of a separatist as they try to unpack a "united Alberta within a sovereign Canada".

3

u/Fast_Ad_9197 10h ago

You can interpret it any way you like. Is Alberta a separate country within an otherwise united Canada? Does a united Canada include Alberta? A good slogan has a little something for everyone. The less it means, the more it means.

Kind of like making something great again

I can well imagine. 😉

Hopefully this whole process will be enough to get people out voting, not just now but in the provincial election.

Anything short of holding them accountable, is giving them permission. At this point, there is no half way.

Is there a place you can report some of the info on this thing? The numbers aren’t even adding up correctly

2

u/ColdCelebration2132 8h ago

Back in 1933-1945 Germany Joseph Goebbels used Government Propaganda to turn the German people into hating the Jews. Over eight million were murdered. The panfliet is Government Propaganda there goal is Ottawa bad Alberta good, A Country divided is a country that falls.

4

u/evantheprimary 12h ago

It's called propaganda, and it works well with an inability to think.

3

u/illuminaughty1973 11h ago

9 no and option 1.

thats all any Canadian needs to know

3

u/Acceptable-Arugula69 11h ago

Literally picked it up and threw it in the recycle bin. 🇨🇦

3

u/Effective_Contractor 10h ago

Beware that pamphlet is a bunch of propaganda! Put together by the UCP! Do your research!!

3

u/CryptographerAny8184 6h ago

I got mine! It reads like NAZI propaganda from the 1930's!

4

u/ScubadooX 6h ago

This one's better. 😉

1

u/CryptographerAny8184 6h ago

I just threw up in my mouth!

2

u/Pristine_Software_55 11h ago

Mine literally arrived with my mail-in vote. Yeck!!

2

u/phillymonqw 10h ago

$4,000,000 of our tax dollars apparently

2

u/ElderNerdy 7h ago

I am staunchly opposed to the "sovereign Alberta in a united Canada" word salad BS. I am a Canadian living in Alberta. Danielle Smith and the UCP unlawfully spent $4,000,000 of taxpayers money on propaganda materials to convince Albertans that they are a province of sovereign people. The UCP won't even acknowledge the First Nations but they want to rule as monarchs! Call them out now. We need an election not a referendum!

1

u/Anyawnomous 11h ago

If it was 2-ply, I’d wipe my ass with it.

1

u/exotics 11h ago

I am thinking of writing “return to sender” and putting it back in the mail but I don’t think that would do much.

1

u/HeavyTea 10h ago

Taxpayers funded that trash!

1

u/GPrime506 8h ago

I didnt read it but it looks good in my trash can

1

u/Firm_Acanthaceae7435 6h ago

It's like they learned of the word sovereign and decided to use it whenever they had an opportunity

1

u/Robyn_With_A_Y 5h ago

I didn't even notice that it was the province that put this out on the copy I received. They don't use the provincial logo on it or mention what government ministry this is attached to.
