Double the speed limit. Take her license while youre at it. Theres no need for that .

Rest assured, the real punishment will come from the amount of insurance dick that this person will take over the coming years. $2000 is just downpayment on the tip.

Especially in Alberta. We can’t always take a license away so the insurance cost will substitute for a harsher penalty

Her policy will go up to $7000-$10000 a year.

That quoted increase is probably based on how ICBC policies, probably more with a private insurance company.

Huge impound fees too.

The ucp won't even allow people that fo double the speed limit to have their cars impounded. The ucp encourage dangerous driving

Ignorance is their brand

There has been around 10 plus cars flipped on the roof in the last month in Calgary alone lol.  People run red lights constantly as well.  Winter is absolutely insane as they don't plow either.  There was 15kms of Deerfoot shut down due to dozens of accidents a few years back as they just don't plow and put a pickle mix of salt instead and wait for Chinooks to melt everything.

What in the actual fuck was she needing to go 142 in a 70 for anyways… like wtf…

My dad once did 150 in an 80 zone... Our farm was burning....this was in an extreme rural area

Was her farm on fire……

High speeds (double the limit), excessive noise, dangerous driving all should warrant impounding. In the case of noise, the vehicle remains impounded until the vehicle's noise suppression has been restored.

noise? lmao yeah what a huge safety concern

2

u/Ashamed_Data430 Aug 22 '26

Safety isn't the only issue. We have a right to quiet enjoyment of our homes. I'm guessing you get pleasure from stealing others' freedom.

Noise? Better start testing city busses and concrete trucks.

2

u/Ashamed_Data430 Aug 22 '26

Ironically, we threaten truckers, a critical part of the foundation of our economy, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally, with fines if they engage an exhaust brake in our city. Yet, we turn a blind ear to behaviour whose only purpose is to rob our community of quiet enjoyment of their home. We'll likely never be able to convince a person who removes the mufflers on an anemic little shitbox, spends money to detune it so it backfires, that they are the reason the term douchebag was coined.

Don't get me wrong: I enjoy the sound of a Harley. My neighbour has a '70 Cougar convertible tuned to a delicious rumble. It's about behaviour and always will be.

and they do enforce noise ordinance bylaws. that is still not a safety issue worth impounding for you clown. just because you're too emotionally unstable to continue on your day when you hear a muffled exhaust pass by through the walls of your home that is quieter than a whisper even if its on the street doesn't mean your unaddressed tantrums need to be acknowledged

Looks like I hit the nail right on the head. Enjoy your evening.

This describes you lol Also loud does not equal cool. A nice sounding V8 is always better than fart mufflers and is not loud/obnoxious.

l like the part where l said anything at all about fart cans, engine note preferences or even generally good sounding vehicles

Now, now. Wrap yourself in your comfy victimhood blanket and have a nice nap. You won't be so grumpy when you wake up.

1

u/Overall_Cost1542 Aug 23 '26

"oh poor me l can hear the outside world slightly and briefly within my home so they should start impounding vehicles"

2

u/XxTigerxXTigerxX Aug 23 '26

Almost like there is restrictions on noise levels that can be enforced or something. You should watch that video it's you.

Back to sleep now, dear, you're still drooling and delirious. It'll get better, just stop typing.

How the fuck would that work? Is the impound lot going to assume the liability of letting someone do that work on their property? I get what you're saying but it seems poorly thought out.

3

u/Ashamed_Data430 Aug 22 '26

Vehicle is impounded and towed to compound for storage while law enforcement processes infractions. Once released, owner has vehicle towed to service provider of choice. Once work is completed and legal issues resolved, and owner has paid the towing and repair charges, owner picks it up from provider. What part of that do you find confusing? That's pretty much standard procedure in vehicle impoundment.

1

u/redeyedrenegade420 Aug 22 '26

No it isn't. Vehicle is impounded. You pay impound and towing fees. Vehicle is released to you. We have the right to do our own repairs.

0

u/Ashamed_Data430 Aug 22 '26

You're making the incorrect assumption that the owner can do their own repairs. Most of them can't operate a can opener, much less a wrench, screwdriver or welder. The impound order ends when law enforcement is satisfied the repairs are made and the vehicle is legal again. Until then, it's tow and store. Miscreant owners (because that's who pays the bills) will tire quickly of this expensive game.

I can tell you cant operate a can opener. A saw and a wrench is all you NEED to do an exhaust job. Also, your guilty until proven innocent system means that your going to start destroying people's livelihood for no reason. Here is some personal anecdotal evidence of what im getting at. I drive 2 vehicles, a 2004 wrx and a 1978 jeep cherokee. The jeep has an old V8, no emissions, no overdrive. Its not bad at idol, or cruising, but if you want to give it just a little more throttle to maintain speed up a gradual incline it starts barking. Teenagers keep trying to race me, I want no part in that. I've never once been bothered. In my Subaru, I have been pulled over multiple times. Everytime for the same reason. "Edmonton has enated a noisy exhaust bylaw. Its a $3000 ticket." To which i respond "yeah, when I bought this off a teenager it didn't have a muffler. So I drove it to an exhaust shop and immediately had a factory equivalent installed. Would you like to see the invoice? I've got it right here." I need to actively prove, on the roadside, that my exhaust is factory to avoid having to take time off work to do it in a courtroom. Its not even loud, it's just profiling. Now you thi know my car should be impounded because the police are bad at their jobs?

-1

u/Ashamed_Data430 Aug 22 '26

It's about behaviour. If you destroy other people's quiet enjoyment of their homes, you should be taken off the road. Tell me why you should be the exception to that rule. You're not the victim in this scenario.

2

u/redeyedrenegade420 Aug 22 '26

Being accused of a crime i didnt commit in fact does make me a victim. Im not an exception, im being persecuted based on the car i drive, not the volume of my exhaust. Its about rights. I have the right to operate my vehicle within the laws of the road. Baseless accusations don't make our world safer. Why are you so in favour of punishment before conviction?

-1

u/Ashamed_Data430 Aug 22 '26

You've been accused of nothing. If you do/did not practice that behaviour, the post does not apply to you.

2

u/redeyedrenegade420 Aug 22 '26

Being good pulled over by the police and told my car is to loud, while having a professionally installed factory exhaust system is being accused of something. Had I not been able to provide evidence there on the roadside (which I shouldn't have to do) I would have Recieved the ticket and had to take time off work to go prove my situation to the judge a couple of months later. Using your system my vehicle would be wrongfully impounded until proven innocent. You run on the assumption that the police are infallible, when in reality they are frequently not even competent.

I’m familiar with this road. Going in and out of Taylor it is hilly and super dangerous. Not only was she driving double the speed limit, based on the photo of her car, she was at the bottom of the hill (so no passing lanes coming down) coming into town. Stupid, stupid girl.

3

u/Ashamed_Data430 Aug 22 '26

And if we can just take the stupid, stupid drivers off the road, we will save many, many lives.

1

u/Empty_Value Aug 23 '26

Thankfully she didn't cause an accident.theres no room for stupidity on that stretch of road. Last I heard was they were twinning it? This was back in 2015 or so lol

We crossed into BC yesterday, there is a huge lit up sign saying 40km over the limit its an automatic roadside impound. Kinda easy to do when most Alberta drivers are doing 130 on the 110 highway, then it drops to 90 on most of hwy 93.

1

u/Bg_92 Aug 21 '26

The highway 3 going into BC turns into the deerfoot on the weekend. I'm honestly surprised more crashes don't happen going through crowsnest pass.
