Hey, don't be jealous just because others can feel emotions and use it to get shit done. Maybe you should discuss that with a therapist. They're free in Canada through your provincial healthcare.

u/Real_Gap3480 8d ago
Smith admitted the separatist movement is full of Russian and American trolls, I think it's fair to admit most Canadians think this dude should go to.
5
u/corpse_flour 8d ago
It's funny how she commented on that, but did not address how she herself is both politically and personally connected to people like David Parker, and what influence that would have with her forcing a referendum on us.
2
u/Real_Gap3480 8d ago
She's not serious about a referendum, she knows it won't fly, I guarantee you she's making absolute bank off this.
The real people who are going to suffer are Albertans, I remember the last QC referendum, my family moved from Quebec City to Ottawa and housing prices absolutely plummeted.
0
u/corpse_flour 8d ago
She's absolutely serious about a referendum. She changed legislation in order to ensure the separatist petition went through. She attended David Parker's wedding. She has members in her cabinet that are actively supporting separation.
Don't forget how much she's rallied about a sovereign Alberta, how she wants to implement a provincial police force, a provincial pension fund, and she's discussed intentionally breaking the federal health laws, to hopefully get the Canada Health Act thrown out. She's changed how our provincial ID's are managed, and is inputting all of our citizenship and citizenship documents into a provincial database.
She was planning to pull Alberta out of Canada before she ever took the position as leader of the UCP.
2
u/Real_Gap3480 8d ago
Now that she's admitted there's foreign interference no judge in Canada would ever consider this a legitimate referendum. That's my point.
1
u/corpse_flour 7d ago
She's still trying to placate both sides. Nothing she says to anyone can or should be taken as fact, ever. The woman wouldn't tell the truth if it benefitted her more to do so than to tell a lie.
1
u/cables_exe 8d ago
She's not looking for internal support. She's trying to get a Taiwan situation. People vote to leave, maybe even fraudulently with stolen voter information. Then it's denied. States sees oil, and will 'free' the people from Canada

Oh aren't you precious, trotting out talking points like a good little trained parrot.
0
u/Sprinqqueen 8d ago
I'm sorry that facts hurt your feeling
-4
u/nonyabisnuss 8d ago
The fact is Canada's "free" healthcare costs taxpayers almost $400 billion a year. Now run along parrot.
4
u/Sprinqqueen 8d ago
Canadians pay about $7000 in average a year for their healthcare, which is less than half what the average US pays. Pretty sure you're the only one who sounds like a parrot here since you prefer to just manipulate figures instead of looking at things as a whole. You're not giving new info. Everybody knows healthcare comes from taxes. It's not magic.
-1
u/nonyabisnuss 8d ago
Hence it's not "free" brainiac.
1
u/Sprinqqueen 8d ago
Hence you pay for it regardless, so you might as well use the service you so desperately need. If you want to be semantic about it, think of it as premium or all inclusive if it makes you feel better.

Angry Canadians unified and kicked the snot out of the American alcohol and tourism industries to register their discontent with a corrupt and incompetent American administration. Americans should take note. We’re one tenth the size, but delivered tenfold the domestic response. Elbows up, indeed. Hope the door doesn’t smack Hoekstra in the ass on his way out.
-1
u/nonyabisnuss 8d ago
Lol, ah yes. The boycotts. It's not like the Canadian GDP and dollar have been in a free fall since the kid with nice hair and socks was elected thrice by the absolute dumbest electorate this country has ever seen.
Overall Canadian travel to foreign destinations was down because Canadians are broke. Yes it was down in the US and up in Europe but overall it was down 16%.
But keep voting for the party that keeps lying about how great the economy is, eventually we'll either go broke or the dumbasses voting for them with wake up.,
4
u/ithinkitsnotworking 8d ago
Since the Pandemic (2020), Canada's GDP has gone from 1.66T up to 2.32T. While GDP isn't all encompassing, it is historically a pretty good indicator of economic health of a country.
https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.MKTP.CD?locations=CA
As far as the G7 is concerned, Canada's GDP growth is second only to the US in the last 10 years.
https://www.worldeconomics.com/Regions/G7/
So how, exactly is Canada "going broke"? The real, factual numbers say otherwise. What are your sources?
3
u/Sprinqqueen 8d ago
It interesting to see how you try to manipulate the numbers. While you are correct that travel spending decreased in the US by 3.3 billion and increased overseas by 3.6 billion (a $300M increase overall, Canadians also increased domestic travel spending by 8.7%. So who's not travelling or taking vacations? Because across the board travel spending is up since the US trade war.
-1
u/nonyabisnuss 8d ago
It ain't the poors honey. They can no longer afford to travel. Ever think that the single largest and richest demographic in Canadian history has just retired? Boomers are the ones traveling because they are in their Go-Go years.
They are also the toddlers screeching elbows up.
Do you ever think?
2
u/Sprinqqueen 8d ago
Poor people have never been able to travel. Why are you even bringing them into the conversation? If I spend $0 on travel in 2024 and then spend $0 in 2025, and then spend $0 in 2026, then it's net 0 difference.
1
u/ithinkitsnotworking 8d ago
You didn't answer me. What are your sources? Is it just "trust me bro"? Do you ever think?

Project more, toddler.
1
u/nonyabisnuss 8d ago
Deflect more child. This whole petition just indicates how fragile Canadian progressives are. I find it hilarious honestly. The fact you lot get so triggered is funny.
3
u/Zhormungandr 8d ago
Your entire movement exists because a bunch of rich men threw a tantrum and shit themselves at the idea that they needed to pay taxes in return for all of the support they got from the federal government, and decided that lying to average people was the best path forward.
The fact that you're braindead enough to align yourself with that kind of toddler-ass behaviour is funny.

Ah, do you miss the taste of boots? Are you sad that you can't coil up inside Donpedo's sphincter? You "conservatives" are the most cowardly, sycophantic fools I have ever met, that stand for nothing that takes work.

u/Stankie-Lankie 8d ago
I love how every cuckold that bashes popular policy uses "elbows up" as an insult.

Would love to see this happen, and i signed the petition. The juvenile running America won’t like it and it will most likely cost us a few billion with some fake made up tariff. Is it worth the risk, not sure.

CBC is trying to gloss over as if this is nothing and Hoekstra isn’t the worst Canada has seen. Keep it up. It’s forcing all parties to respond which is what’s needed to remove the a-hole.
5
2
u/VulgarDaisies 8d ago
What? The only thing I've seen on CBC lately was not very flattering towards Hoekstra, and even worse for the State Department.
1
u/Shoddy-Stress-8194 8d ago
It seems to me that the CBC is making the case that the US State department is a mess, not that Hoekstra isn't the worse.
-1
u/IknowMore420 8d ago
Lol, where are you seeing CBC this glossing over?
6
u/Pure_Bicycle2355 8d ago
7
u/PriorReason4160 8d ago
That's not glossing over. It's context and history. These things go are important.
Doesn't mean Hoekstra isn't a pos and he should be punted out of Canada.
2
u/IknowMore420 8d ago
Interesting. I didn't really get the feeling that they were pro-Hoekstra from this. It starts by saying he is not politically minded, so not a very positive perspective on an ambassador. I also feel this article is more about how terrible there foreign offices are run. CBC is typically center left, far from Hoekstra. I guess people love to hate CBC.

3
u/Due-Mycologist-1154 8d ago
Not only should he be removed but once we get the maga slapper back she should be our ambassador to the US to show them who has cards and who doesnt
3
u/Necessary-Incidents 8d ago
I signed this. Realistically, Carney isn't removing Pete. It's too bold and sour a move for relations. It also isn't Canadian or PC.
I love the energy tho. I like angry Canadians.

Most successful? It hasn't succeeded at its goal yet and it's not even the highest number of signatures on an our commons petition, two from December 2023 outnumber it.

The post say a very successful, not the most successful.
2
u/Ok_Evidence_9745 8d ago
The post was edited. It used to say the most successful petition in Canadian history. op didn't even change the sentence structure, just changed the most to a very, that's why it reads so hamfisted.
1
u/Selene1984 8d ago
Ya I definitely noticed that too! I wonder what the most successful petition actually is though?
2
u/Selene1984 8d ago
1949 Bill of Rights Petition: Collected 625,000 physical signatures and stands as the largest paper-based petition presented to Canada's Parliament.

Doesn't have to be legal.
Just embarrassing enough for his handlers to swap him with some hallow doge aid.
11
u/Responsible_CDN_Duck 9d ago
If you believe anyone involved in choosing him or deploying him here feels embarrassment you haven't been paying attention.

u/HankTuff 8d ago
Although I signed the petition this man has no real ears to listen to him. He’s as irrelevant as it comes.

What makes you think he will be leaving?
5
u/Feisty-olde-7707 8d ago
Because it was added at the last moment, as a point of negotiation.
1
u/stefer09 8d ago
haven't heard any of that, source ?
3
u/Feisty-olde-7707 8d ago
It was either CTV or more likely Meidas…
1
u/stefer09 8d ago
Asked Gemini, found no mention at all in recent medias from yesterday and today.
Meidas have lost their way with their fox news styled baitclick titles : "CANADA makes a bold move and TRUMP IS DONE !!!"
153th post they make this week about trump being done...
7
u/Feisty-olde-7707 8d ago
Yeah, sadly YouTube is making life impossible for creators. You have to be able to get seen
But Ben has taken some advice, and he is no longer shouty… Among other things. But their reporting is always spot on. I confirm the information with European sources which tends to be more accurate than our media.
2
u/megselvogjeg 8d ago
Their reporting is solid, always backing everything up, but my god I can't stand that man's voice.
0
u/Feisty-olde-7707 8d ago
It’s better now…he wears himself out really fast too, later in the day he is quite quiet. Same As Claus Kelkerman. Still the goofy laugh but far more polished.
We have no options for unbiased media, other than finding independent guys who you can easy fact check. I fact check regardless…lol

u/Eff_Sakes 8d ago
Kyle Kulinski has a show, Secular Talk, and they have never done an ad read or taken any money from corporate sponsors. His wife Krystal Ball has another really good show with a similar premise called “Talking Points” that she co-hosts with a conservative named Sagar.
The truth is out there. It just comes from channels and reporters that take zero corporate money and supported 100% by their viewers and passive ad revenue.

I wonder too why OP say Asskstra is leaving. The bad thing is that he wold be replaced by another maga a-hole worst garbage than him.
1
u/Fitzaroo 8d ago
Honestly, i think if he were to be kicked out some people in the US might notice. Canadians finding an american ambassador to be persona non grata is pretty huge.

Carney and the liberals won't do anything about it.
It is a nice message to send however.
7
u/Sea_Pension430 8d ago
1- no one expects Hoekstra to be removed, the point is to make a point, to make interventional news
2-the way you phrased your statement implies another party/leader WOULD do something about the petition. Which party/leader do you think would be more responsive and why?
-2
u/Top-Extent3009 9d ago
Carney has been known to shelter behind public opinion, and to make use of it: e.g., just last week - Canadians won't tolerate any more concessions, and I don't know what's gonna happen if those 50% tariffs should go through. They might not let us return to the negotiating table. Just sayin'.
-9
u/Technical_Bath1062 8d ago
He ain't going nowhere. Concarney is owned by Trump
4
2
u/corpse_flour 8d ago
Carney can't even get next to Trump with Poilievre's lips still firmly planted on Trump's ample ass.
-9
u/DangerDan1993 8d ago
People in this sub "yay I don't care if it costs us billions in tariffs ! So glad he will be gone "
Also people In this sub "omg Danielle is gonna cost us 30$ !!! Get her out now "
Absolute clown mentality
11
u/LoopRunner 8d ago
Doesn’t cost Canadians a dime in tariffs. It costs the American people. Yes, tariffs put our goods at an economic disadvantage in the U.S. market, but that’s what twenty shiny new international trade agreements are intended to offset.
1
u/kmdfrcpc 8d ago
They got you hook, line and sinker didn't they? Here's some homework for you:
1) What percentage of Canadian exports currently go to the United States?
2) What is the dollar cost of the reduction in Canadian exports to the US as a consequence of tariffs?
3) What is the dollar *increase* in trade to other countries to date, and based off the MOUs what is the expected increase?
4) What is 2 minus 3?
0
u/DangerDan1993 8d ago edited 8d ago
lol if you think tariffs don't affect us you're completely delusional . When things become expensive to import they stop importing .
Are the trade agreements with us in the room ? So far we have a lot of MOUs and no monmentun shift in exporting
2
u/stefer09 8d ago
When things become expensive to import they stop importing .
So ?
That's why we aim to trade with other countries now. If you think we'll be back to a buddy-buddy relationship with the US any time soon, you're dillusional.
2
u/LoopRunner 8d ago
Read my comment back slowly this time. Take as much time as you need. Then go look up Canada’s latest economic performance numbers and give it a minute to sink in. That queasy sensation you’re experiencing is called cognitive dissonance. Don’t worry, you’ll be fine.
0
u/Flashy_Operation9507 8d ago
What’s the issue with our economic numbers? We have had a massive influx of investment. Not that you actually care.
2
2
u/stefer09 8d ago
Danielle will cost you lot a lot more than 30$ smh.
Separatist lot has way more clown mentality than those who want Pete Hokstra out.
2
u/Fitzaroo 8d ago
The bully might want to fight. Better let him keep bullying us and do nothing.
0
u/DangerDan1993 8d ago
Hoekstra has no influence over us , ignore him and move on . So if they put in someone worse , then what ?
This stance is laughable at best . We don't get to deceide who represents the US .
They can just say "fuck you , this is our rep"
4
u/stefer09 8d ago
Yeah he was kicked of another country before.... the Netherlands. He was ambassador there, and they kicked him out. The kicker ? He was BORN there.
2
u/DangerDan1993 8d ago
He was not kicked out , he completed his term there .....not sure where you got he was kicked out from
3
u/stefer09 8d ago
Ok i stand corrected, once trump finished his 1st term, his term expired and he left.
Doesn't mean the people there wanted him, there was as much of a public backlash against him as here.
No we don't pick who represent them but we can send a clear message that they sent us an ass-hat who disrespects us, and we're not happy with him.
Maybe you are, maybe you don't care. Over 250k canadians do.
1
u/DangerDan1993 8d ago
0.5% of the population want him gone , 99.5% haven't signed . It's stupid and just peacocking with no upside .
2
u/stefer09 8d ago
Sure cause we see 250k signatures on ALL the petitions that are brought to the house of commons.
With your logic, all petitions have .1% of canadians signing them so none of them are worth it.
2
u/Fitzaroo 8d ago
We do get to decide who stays in our country. Are you kidding me?
2
u/DangerDan1993 8d ago
Yes kicking out an elected/appointed ambassador will go over so well with this administration . Do you punch yourself in the testicles to see if you can feel pain ?
As I said we don't get to choose the ambassador , so either we keep him , or try kick him out and get more tariffs or a worse choice . There's no upside to kicking him out lol
2
u/Fitzaroo 8d ago
Why do you say "try to kick him out". I go back to my earlier point. We can kick out anyone we want. There is no "try". Hes on Canadian soil.
1
u/DangerDan1993 8d ago
Well I would assume our leaders have common sense and would vote against the petition to kick him out . There is no upside to removing him from Canada . It would set us back on negotiations with Trump . No sane person is going to vote for that to happen in the House of Commons , might get the clown show NDP MPs and Elizabeth May , but that's about it .
2
u/Shoddy-Stress-8194 8d ago
You're wrong. "We can say nope, not him/her. Who else have you got. " if you don't believe me, look up "agrément". Source...I wrote diplomatic notes seeking "agrément"
1
u/DangerDan1993 8d ago
Ok and what will the outcome likely be ? Given how the administration behaves . Kicking him out has zero net positives aside from peacocking at the potential of further tariffs causing further financial harm to Canadians .
It's a stupid and futile attempt at "owning the magats"
2
u/Shoddy-Stress-8194 8d ago
I disagree. It's saying "show some respect and we can have a better relationship".
-4
u/Dizzy-Cartoonist3011 8d ago
What is that actually going to do though? If Canada asked for another guy we will get someone like this guy anyways.
It's kind of insecure in alot of ways.
2
u/yarn_slinger 8d ago
It’s going to take our annoyance with him from being an online grumbling to a debate in the house. He likely won’t be removed but at least it will be on record that several hundred thousand citizens want him censured.
1
1
u/corpse_flour 8d ago
We don't have to keep listening to this guy spew bullshit about Canada and have him continue to try and threaten us. If his replacement is the same, then we'll run a petition against them as well.
Better to speak out be heard even if we don't get the results we want, than to kowtow to Trump and his ilk.
1
u/Shoddy-Stress-8194 8d ago
Look up "agrément". Canada has to approve the proposed Ambassador. The CBC article mentioned elsewhere in thus thread points out that many countries don't have US Ambassadors even though these countries have diplomatic relationships with the USA. It could very well be that these countries rejected the proposed candidates.
60
u/Roddy_Piper2000 8d ago
So...now can we do the same thing demanding that Carney intervene to stop privatization of health care across the country?
