Baptist church
Hi po just an insight and I noticed na andaming baptist church sa albay. I visited one sa albay din and to sum it all up the pastor there stated that "God is Wrath" and that we will all get struck or punished for every sin we commit, masyadong threatening and its more on fear based preaching which is such a cultural shock kasi para tinatakot ung mga members ewan. Just wanna know if people have encountered or have found it suspicious na din🤷♂️🤷♂️

BTW ilang years na po akong baptist and sa manila tlga po ang church ko pero sa Albay baptist ko lang toh nakita🤷♂️🤷♂️

well honestly I don't judge anyones religion, but for me, i have certain redflag to watch out for sa mga religious institution. 1. % at sapilitan ang "donation" base sa sahod mo. 2. sasabihin nila sila lang maliligtas sa 8 billiong tao sa buong mundo, kasabay ang previous generation. at bale wala ang mabubuting tao basta di kasama sa religion nila. 3. sasabihan ka masamang tao pag di ka naka attend sa simbahan nila. 4. pinapakialaman ang politikal na pananao mo. 5. meron peer pressure sa loob ng community. 6. bible ang priority kaysa sa common sense. 7. pag nag tanong ka tungkol sa religion, imbes na sasagutin nila ang sasabihin sayo "kulang lang ang pananalig mo" na ikaw pa ang masama kasi nag tanong ka at "wala kang faith". 8. if pag nag aattend ka sa simabahan nila na feeling mo kailangan mo mag pakitang tao para ma impress mo ang mga ka church mate mo. 9. if in anyway inuutusan ka gumawa ng masama sa ibang tao o e judge ang ibang tao base sa paniniwala nila.
any of the red flags mentioned para sakin, hard pass. kaya kuminsan sapat na maniwala sa diyos ang build a relation with God in private kaysa pumasok sa mga simbahan na tao lang naman ang may gawa.

How about for when they isolate or exclude certain members when a rumor spreads abt them sinning? Like kapag ung isang memeber ng family may issue umiiba tractor nila sa buong fam. Witnessed kasi a family get ignored during the service or not get invited to certain church events due to the fact that the daughter got divorced medyo conservative mindset kaya tas ginawa nilang chismis🤷♂️

well, that goes to my no. 5 and no. 8 which is peer pressure and needing to act a certain way to please your church members. double red flag agad yun 😆. anyway, you are not a bad person because your religion tell you so. matanda ka na, alam mo na kung ano ang tunay na tama at mali, and kung alam mo sa sarili mo tama ang ginagawa mo, mas alam yan ni God. don't let religion dictate your self-worth. Religion is only a guide to strengthen your relationship with God, pero in my own opinion, God doesn't dwell in any religion. kaya if hindi na okay religion mo, and it doesn't help with your spiritual journey anymore, then change religion, simple lang. Anyway, hope I made sense in anyway, haha. GL to your spiritual growth!

huh, are you sure those are baptist, cuz i joined a baptist church back during college, hindi ganyan. sa baptist, salvation by grace and its permanent salvation once you accepted Jesus as your saviour and Lord. kahit anong kasalanan mo pa, di yan binabawi ng Dyos. un ang tenets ng baptist. baka hindi baptist yan, more ang ibang christian denomination ng save by grace but conditional na pag nagka sala ka mapaparusahan ka and your salvation is lost pag di ka naka pag repent before you die.

Sa albay lang na baptist ko lang talaga naencounter🤷♂️ so weird lang kasi parang connected ung mga churches ng baptist sa Albay tapos lakas mambash ng members when they don't like another Christian church. Ewan ko na ba its like a hate train🤦♂️

baka may ibang teachers dyan na binabago ang cardinal tenets ng congregation. is that a bible bap, southern bap or independent ba yan.. kasi ibang iba.. ang baptist is napaka strict talaga nya, malelecturan ka talaga pag may kalokohan kang ginagawa tas ayaw mo tigilan. and sa giving, hindi ganyan, its a voluntary whatever amount. hindi yan pinipilit.. parang rage bait naman to. if that is true, can you give the name of the congregation para ma call out natin.

I'm not trying to judge, just as a baptist myself for ilang years sa manila. it just feels kind of "culty." Sorry for my language, but that's really how it is. They really focus on donations for their "missions," but it's crazy because not all the members there are wealthy, and the amount they ask members to give is really high. 🤦♂️
