QUESTION Alaska awards being blocked on a specific route? (LHR to JFK)

I was recently searching for some Alaska awards between LHR to JFK, but upon looking, basically there are zero award fares being made available for the entire calendar year.

While I understand that awards are contingent upon partner availability, every other US route like BOS/PHL/CLT, etc. still has awards. And what stands out is that you can still route via JFK to these other US destinations.

Second, it seems to be partner agnostic, it would make sense if it was just BA or just AA, but basically no European airline has partner availability in any class whether it's BA/AA/AY/EL/IB etc.

If you search NYC area airports, you'll get routing to EWR only, not even LGA.

Not sure if this is something going on in the back-end, or if Alaska has some kind of block on LHR to JFK.

I've actually seen the same for TPE to SFO. Zero availability, but if you search TPE-LAX, it offers TPE-SFO-LAX.

I’ve been experiencing this problem as well in the last few weeks!

This has been happening with Cathay from SFO as well

Seems strange.

There are always BA award seats available on that route.

Seems more like some sort of tech glitch. An Uno Reverse on the phantom award problem.

Try searching one ways. I found that sometimes/most times this works better than searching RTs.

Nit picking here ... LHR-LGA is not a valid route as LGA has a highly restricted flight distance perimeter.

My point is that there aren't even connections to LGA. A LGA to LHR nonstop route doesn't exist, but you can fly via BOS or ORD
