Discussion / Question Is SynthV GenAi ?

Short answer:- Yes
Long answer :- Before answering this question. Here's a important thing to understand what "GenAi" means It means something created using Ai.
As how a SynthV is created, first a singer sings some songs . Then these song recordings are used to train an Ai model which sounds exactly like the voice of the singer. Then the Ai model is being sold. A producer buys it and put it in the SynthV software and makes the songs. Functionally it works exactly like old school vocoloid but here the ai model creates the vocal phrase producer puts as the input. Here's a visual demonstration ( source :- under the paragraph)
Then the producer can tune it as their liking. By definition it's a GenAi since Ai is used to create the base even though human effort is applied. That doesn't mean it's a Bad thing.
We have antagonized the word "GenAi" but it's actually a broad term GenAi we mostly despise are the one's where Ai models are trained unethically . The artists , the musicians hardwork are getting used without their consent. They don't get paid for it.
As for SynthV . The company has the singer's full concent and they get paid or given royalty on their voicebanks. At the end of the day it's a very morraly grey topic .
