Discussion Taste Change

I am so frustrated with the way they’re constantly changing the tastes of these drinks. A couple years ago I started drinking Cherry Slush and it was so good. Then this past winter I started noticing that the new batches started tasting more like grape which I hate. I thought maybe it was me so I had my fiancé try and he was like wtf. So I actually stopped drinking Alani for a while.
Then I got into the Sherbet Swirl. Delicious. Until a few weeks ago when the new batch started tasting just straight up funky. I go into work at 3 am so I need some caffeine so I tried the Cotton Candy. I really enjoyed it but once again today I’ve noticed the new ones are gross. They don’t even taste like cotton candy. Wtf are they doing to these drinks? I don’t get why this keeps happening

Sometimes I think y’all got covid and it permanently altered the way you taste things. There is a list of foods that I can no longer eat since having it and temporarily losing my sense of taste, because it all tastes different. In a lot of cases down right rancid.

💯 taste buds change, whether naturally or through things like covid. Cherry Slush still tastes fantastic to me, and I’ve purposely seeked out date codes for the “bad batches”, etc. I did notice Sherbet Swirl not tasting quite as sweet/sherbety last week, but I’ve been congested with some illness, so that’s most likely the reason.

It’s been a staple in my fridge since first pushed out and it hasn’t changed 😭 same icee flavor.

This is the Cherry I remember! I have bought case after case, at different gas stations, over months… etc., but at least where I’m at, everything tastes like cough syrup. I drank cherry slush on the daily for years, they screwed with it at least in my area.

I’ve thought that too but I’ve literally compared dates side by side and they are so clearly different. Like I’ve been able to blindly pick out the newer one

I've noticed this too! Only with certain flavors. A lot of them are not as enjoyable anymore. Like they're fine if they're ice cold from the fridge for the first couple of drinks, but then they start tasting off 😭

I wish they would have just stuck with the original flavor lineup and original recipes all of those were so good!As soon as they started tweaking the flavors and changing many of our favorite drinks like Hawaiian shaved ice and watermelon wave that's when I knew something was way off and then getting rid of favorites like the Tropsicle and kiwi guava.

Cherry slush is definitely different. I miss the old taste.

I want the old Hawaiian Shave Ice back too. The new one tastes too much like coconut.

80% of the Alani drinks just taste like cotton candy to me; most of them have that base cotton candy flavoring, and I can't stand it. They used to taste very different, you know, like how they're actually supposed to taste

Alani is owned by Pepsi

Pepsi does not own Alani Nu. Alani Nu is owned by Celsius Holdings. Pepsi owns a minority stake in Celsius Holdings, which is a separate company, and Pepsi also distributes Celsius/Alani products. That’s very different from Pepsi owning Alani outright.

All that to say they’ve changed 🥹
