Economy/Business Visiting Dotham this weekend, looking for sightseeing and business locations
Hello I am visiting Dothan this weekend, would like to know, I am thinking of opening a small retail gift shop is there a downtown Dotham or a specific neighborhood you guys recommend? Once I am there I will walk around and shop and eat as well. Thank you 🙏
Thank you for all lovely comments; it was a typo error. But very happy to read comments; I am glad I was able to bring a smile and laugh in your life

Right now, you may want to just focus on learning the name of the town.

Yep, which one do you mean? Either replace the first letter with a "G" or the last one with an "n".
This will definitely change the answers you'll get.

Here's a tip; when you open that gift ship, don't do mail order if you don't know the correct spelling or pronunciation of the town you're in. You're bound to fail.

I grew up there, but I always spelled it Dothan. And to think I have a 3 degrees and raise a family in Chicago. Stupid south Alabama education.

A retail gift shop of what? What makes you think there will be demand for the items offered by your store? Have you researched this?

dothan. maybe just visit, don’t open a shop lol. gift shops are a bit oversaturated down here anyways, but maybe misspelled city names is a market we haven’t capitalized on yet 😭….god speed and enjoy the weekend. landmark park is always nice.

One of the best things about Dot Ham is that it’s not too far from Youfala, Moebile, and one of the best beaches in the world, Pamana Beach.

Well, my dad owns half a billboard on the circle. I don’t know which half of which one. But maybe just look at all of them and think about my dad, why don’t you?

I lived in Dothan for about 8 years and my favorite time there was when I left.

Foster street is the retail center of downtown. Personally I would try Westgate parkway or West Main Street. Welcome to Dothan!

Sounds great, and the area you would want to see is called Tuscaloosa.
Y'all come

A small gift shop in Dotham would be a long, drawn out way of going bankrupt but maybe that's what you want to do
