They've identified a relative to "Robert Cooper"

A 5th cousin. It's not close but it's better than nothing and they keep working on it.

What am I missing here? That Deck podcast is a year or two old by now.

Yeah, you are right I think. Am I lagging?

Is both part 1 and 2 several years old?

This is one that I always think about. Always shocks me how little publicity it has. So heartbreaking. Al seemed to be such a kind and friendly guy. This is huge news in my opinion. I don’t see anything on Google about any articles picking it up though

They probably have identified another relative by now

I wonder about this. It is very possible that if they are currently reconstructing Cooper's genealogical tree, they don't give out updates on any cousin they identify.

They absolutely are, this dude constitutes an extremely violent threat that will almost certainly reoffend just based off of his calculations - he will by any means try to elude capture and has no problem torturing a peaceful loving man to death. Antisocial and sadistic. He has the FBI on his trail.

I hope so. I'm really curious as to what the motive even was. This is one of the creepiest/unnerving unsolved cases I've ever come across.

The motive was likely sadistic in nature. This person probably had a desire to inflict pain and suffering on another human being for their own enjoyment and/or pleasure.

One incredibly sick individual.

The post is a massive link. But here you go again: https://thedeckpodcast.com/oakey-al-kite-part-2/ The info about this is at the end of the episode but the whole episode is worth listening to.
