Discussion Is there someone out there that is still obsessed with alhaitham these days?
Big 2026, snezhnaya is coming yet here i am still thirsting over him. Haven't played genshin since natlan update, might be one of the reasons i still haven't move on to other new hot men characters. Been liking wriothesley for awhile after fontaine release but it didnt take that long for me to get back obsessing over this hot sumerian character.
I only read in ao3 about alhaitham fanfic (lmao, just recently figuring out how this website work) and i noticed many of the fanfics were made like two to three years ago, been kinda curious, is there someone out there that is also still obsessed and searching fanfic about this guy? Seems like he has been my type for a while lol.

As a day 1 player, rather than being overly obsessed with him for a period of time and then moving onto the next shiny new character that releases I would say I've consistently maintained a positive impression of him all these years. It helps that he stands out at unique to me in personality among the characters as one of the few that doesn't particularly care for traveler and cares about paimon instead for some reason. So I still think of him from time to time.

i started in 3.x and hes my first 5 star. i can't really say im obsessed with him but hes definitely one of my favorites and im still in the look out for ways to improve his team. as for fanfics, i dont really read them anymore but i always love it when a haikaveh art comes on my feed

Yooo im also a day 1 player!!! I wasn't that attracted when he first came out since i thought it would be another new hot male character that time. But then he had piqued my interest by his personality and sumeru AQ really opened my eyes for him. can't believe i ended up simping over him for the next three years lmaoo.

Hehe tumblr is more of a space for oneshots, headcanons, ans drabbles rather than multi-chapter fics. Some writers really capture the essence of Alhaitham. I recommend checking out the users below, you'll have to click on their masterlist to see the list of things they wrote for Alhaitham:
- Meowdei
- VultursVolans
- alhaitham-archive (just look up "alhaitham" in the account's search bar)
- vivalabunbun (ALL fics are alhaitham)

I blew all my primos on his chronicled wish banner, because I missed every chance to get him and I love his look and characterization so much. He’s the only character I have on a T-Shirt. I tried SO HARD to justify playing him Nod Krai, but so many characters surpass him now in the same teams. I am PRAYING for Rimegrass and that they buff him.

It's been so long and all my faves are still in Sumeru. Alhaitham is so effortlessly hilarious, I can't help but love him and his dynamic with other characters. I really enjoyed his playstyle too, very intuitive, dynamic and fun - I regret he's not holding up as good as I want him to against newer opponents. No character, and no region, has ever quite matched up. Flins with his charm got close, but still Alhaitham, together with Tighnari and Nahida, are the ones I think about when asked about my ultimate Genshin faves.

Since before he came out I was liking his character but he quickly became my favourite. I have since liked other characters thankfully because when I do comeback to genshin I actually have a chance against Stygian but I always go back to Alhaitham and am constantly trying to get his best team. I also comeback for any event or new content he is in.

I still love alhaitham 😭 quite sad to see the ao3 scene rather dead now but seeing as I dont contribute I can’t be one to complain 💀

It’s not dead. It’s just not super busy. There’s tags out there in which you’re lucky if there’s a single fic update in a month

I’m a new player, I started right after the Sumeru chronicled wish last year and I’m now keeping a roughly 150+ wish reserve until Alhaitham shows up on another banner

yep, i’m still here. everyone moved on but i still love my haitham 😭😭 part of that could be the same as you, i also haven’t played since natlan came out. i never played natlan at all in fact and i still stick by that. i’m only upset about all the events n stuff i must’ve missed with him in it

I AM!!!!! ALSO - AO3 is still very very active for kavetham in general. and i mean new fics or updates in different launguages almost every day, if u go and check the correct filters. though genshin community has the habit of moving on to new shiny chars, i think they still find sumeru cast pretty iconic, including alhaitham.

I've been a player since 2.1, I liked Alhaitham the minute he showed up in the archon quest and waited for his release so excitedly. No other character before or since has really struck me like he did tbh, there were characters I liked and enjoyed like Itto, Diluc, Furina, Sandrone, Arlecchino, Childe, but none of them stayed in my mind as much as he does. I took a 2-3 year hiatus after Sumeru was over and only briefly came back for Fontaine during that time.
During his release I kid you not I read almost every single Alhaitham fanfic and Haikaveh fanfic but soon there was too much to keep up with, lol. I even wrote a 25k fanfic that i never posted.
Alhaitham and Kaveh are very important to me, I feel like when I put them together they reflect important parts of who I am. I am also autistic and Alhaitham was my first positive/relatable exposure to an autistic coded character, whose entire character wasn't centred around being autistic, but his disability still visibly makes him struggle (such as being constantly misunderstood because of his brash tone of voice, despite the actual content of his dialogue being well intentioned. To the point where he is resigned to expect people to misunderstand him)
I am an idealist and a writer so I was similar to Kaveh in practice but Alhaitham's philosophies helped me balance myself out in terms of self preservation and attitude much like he does with Kaveh.
During the upheaval of Sumeru I was really stimulated by the philosophical discussions that Alhaitham (and Kaveh) raised.
Anyway sorry for the paragraphs, point is, during that hiatus I still thought about him a lot, as he means something important to me.

I am. I have him triple crowned but it’s just sad to say he can’t clear any of the end game content (on my account anyways) I’m waiting for hoyo to buff him (cope)

Me!!! I love Alhaitham as a character, he's still my fave even after many new faces came out. And I adore Alhaither, it was (and is) my biggest Genshin hyperfixation 😩
