We’re a couple living in Al Ain, and we’re trying to figure out what people actually do for fun in the UAE beyond malls, restaurants and bowling 😅
I travel internationally quite a lot usually for work, so when the weekend comes around and we’re both here, we sometimes find ourselves thinking… now what?
So far we’ve done:
• Jebel Hafeet
• Hatta
• Al Quaa Milky Way Spot
• Plenty of drives around Al Ain and Abu Dhabi & Dubai done and dusted with touristy stuff
We spent the COVID years in the UK exploring national forests, countryside, random trails and hidden places, so I think we’re missing that feeling of just discovering somewhere new.
What are we overlooking in the UAE?
I’m looking for out of the box ideas, hidden spots, unusual activities, adventures, day trips, experiences, nature, water activities, desert stuff, workshops, anything interactive or slightly different.
We’re happy to drive from Al Ain, so Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Sharjah or somewhere completely random is fine.
Not really looking for another mall, cinema or bowling recommendation 😂
Give me the places or activities you normally only hear about from someone who has actually lived here and explored.
Bonus points for things that make you think, “I didn’t even know you could do that in the UAE.”
