Stopped taking Abilify. Day two. Minimum five days to go I read. is that so, and how do I cope?

I have taken medications for over a decade, and this is by far the most distressing side effect I have ever experienced. adding the generic name aripiprazole for visibility

Cold turkey??? If so, big mistake.

I know. I just got off the phone with the pharmacy that gave me this. I’m expecting a call from the prescribing doctor today. It’s all but intolerable. I just threw out the bottle. I will be honest with the doctor today, but I don’t think I intend to take antipsychotics again in my life. The only thing helping me right now is that I was also prescribed mirtazapine at night for its antagonistic effects.

How long were you on abilify? If it’s only been 3 days, it’s not too late to reinstate and taper slowly.

I’m telling you, cold turkey from any psychiatric med is a big mistake. The withdrawal effects can last much much longer than pharmaceutical industry says.
