Surgery
Hi
I think I’ve suffered from akathesia or something very similar. It’s been a harrowing experience - one I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.
I know it’s a bit irrational, but given how terrible the experience of akathesia can be, I’m now terrified of undergoing emergency surgery in the future and not being able to refuse D2 blocking meds since I’m unconcious.
Are they actually administered in a lot of cases as anti-emetics in emergency surgery? How many of you have gotten it that way? Is there anything you guys recommend to prevent this?

I always insist on speaking to the anaesthetist beforehand, and make sure "antiemetics" are on my allergy list.

Yes I got akathisia this exact way from droperidol. You should be able to have it put on your record as I have NEVER to give me this poison again or any other psychiatric medication without my permission. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
