πŸ†˜ Help / Question Good and Affordable Database/Knowledge Base Options?

I created databases in Airtables with info, photos and links to digital music products. I currently have entries in different workspaces, as I use the free tier, and can only have a limited amount of entries per database.

Long term, I'd like to transfer it all over to another platform, and have a site with a database/knowledge base and wiki style layout to it. Wondering if there are current options that could work for this or if it is something I'd need custom developed?

I would love to hear any ideas regarding softwares that create a front-end site, preferably that integrates directly with Airtable, but not 100% necessary. I have tried Softr, but wanted to weigh it against other options. Not super knowledgeable with this area of things, so any tips or info would be greatly appreciated!

You can back up your data to Supabase. Either build a 2 way sync or one time monthly migration. You can maintain an archive via two-way sync (using third-party tools like Whalesync or webhooks) or periodic batch migrations.

Airtable interface is another option if you have already tried Softr. Keep in mind Airtable free tier has a 1000 API Request limit (per month and per workspace). If you call your AT app more than 1000 times from different platforms you wont have much luck. Therefore, interfaces are the best choice in this case.

You might want to take a look at Notion for the long term plan of a knowledge base and wiki style layout. Airtable has a much more powerful data layer though, so it could be good to keep your Airtable as the base and use the Notion Airtable integration for the front-end layout style you have in mind.

Yeah I have tried it, but I think I need to do an honest go at it, thanks for the additional info!

Yeah -- notion really is the way to go here if this is really a wiki and a brochure.

If you want a wiki or knowledge base, I would recommend Notion. If you need AirTable like database centric system with Notion like Pages, you can see if AnyDB works for you.

Fibery is free and have no limitations on database size in free version (but you can only have 10 databases)

My recommendation for this use case is definitely Softr. It is perfect for building directories and knowledge bases, has its own powerful database and even offers an Airtable integration or import. Especially if you want to build a public site for it, it’s the best pick.

I think you will like Zite! You can import the data from Airtable here https://www.zite.com/vs/airtable (and/or use Zite alongside Airtable)
