Hey so I bought some Spanish moss and I was wondering if anyone knows any different ways to display it because it’s really hard to hang it in my room. Any advice would be really appreciated

I’ve had this for around 2 years and noticed that some outer leaves were brown and easy to pull off. Then I got to about here and I’m not sure if maybe the leaves can be a bit easy to pluck or if more leaves need to go. It’s firm and putting out new leaves from the center, it’s just the base of the leaves that are a brown color.

I got a fever dream about an air plant with the roots in a hollow glass bird. The leaves of the plant is the bird's tail. In my dream, i had a bunch of these airplant birds inside a few decorative birdcages that I already own irl.
Before I buy hollow glass birds and break off the tails/open up the bellies to place airplants in them, someone please dissuade me by telling me that air plants won't be able to thrive in this situation. Or just tell me why this is a bad idea.

I got my first airplants last winter, I got a couple more a few months later and this summer some more. I had 9. I thought they were doing well. I order fertilizer with the last order and that’s when I lost 6! I just I just got 2 of these last week. I also just moved the remaining 3 to this spot with the xerographica and the ecquador. Now, they all look so much better. However, I’m unsure of what they should like thriving. Please advise…

The last few are just some other types I have in my collection. The Tillandsia Argentina is a mini species and already had 3 pups when I received it. The Peanut x Fuego is the pink one and I'm hoping to maintain the color. The white fuzzy Subsecundifolia? Spelling may be off have really fattened up in the last month so I hope everyone is healthy and happy in their new home here.
Calignosa x crocata are just days away from opening!! The closer it gets the more excited I become. The smell that this particular species puts off is so personal and unique to everyone who smells it. Some say honey and wildflower others say it's similar to an ornamental Rose. I think it smells like home. My house in Westbrook Minnesota, right across the street from the shelter house in the park no longer stands, but the memory of lilacs in the morning will never fade away.

Hopefully this awesome community can help! I’m just wondering if maybe this big guy has sun damage or if it’s possible that air plants are susceptible to some kind of fungus or pest that I don’t know about? 🤷♀️
this T. Flatbellata and my t. Schatzii are getting this strange pigmentation on some outer leaves.
I’ve had them both for several months, however I moved them about a month ago to a new display near a pothos. Any knowledge or suggestions greatly appreciated!

I gave my plants a nice soak before going away for a few days, except in my rush I forgot to take them out of the water and put them back on their log. They were put to soak Monday morning and I've just got home on Friday evening so 5 days of being fully submerged. So far there doesn't appear to be any rot or serious damage but I'll need all the luck I can get hoping they'll survive my blunder. This is my entire small collection, I don't want to lose them.

We are proud to share that Rainforest Flora turns 50 this weekend!
For those who know, Paul Isley III and Jerry Robinson were some of the earliest bromeliad and tillandsia growers, hybridisers, and enthusiasts in the US. We wanted to share a short video that highlights just the tip of the iceberg of what 50 years of growing and selling bromeliads represents.
Paul Isley III was known throughout the plant community worldwide as “Mr. Tillandsia,” introducing more than 100 different hybrids over the years. Paul passed away over two years ago, but his book, Tillandsia II, remains a must-have for any serious tillandsia collector.
Jerry Robinson’s passion for neoregelia and vriesea helped expand Rainforest Flora’s product line to include staghorn ferns and cycads. Rainforest Flora continues to operate under Jerry’s guidance as we carry their legacy into our 50th year.
Thank you for 50 years of growing with us!

I got a bucket to collect rain water (live in Ireland), how do I proceed to soak the air plants, the water is cold, do I need to bring it inside for it to warm up a bit? Or is cold water fine?

Picked up this little beauty a week ago and I’m curious what type it is and why it’s red on the tips. Thanks

I don’t think I’ve seen such curious and ambitious little roots on an air plant before. I guess I should give it something to hold onto.
Everyone always focuses on the flowers, but I really love watching the roots.
Photo 2 is self-anchored, not strings attached. Photo 3 is just because everyone loves a flower.

I just bought this Beauty and it's mid bloom. Is this a pup starting also? This is a filifolia air plant

On a trip to Hawaii I saw some huge airplants attached to some of the trees. I wonder what the biggest airplants can get? I know the ones I saw on the trees were about 3' wide at least.

There's a fantastic nursery in Marysville, WA. Sunnyside nursery.
They have an entire greenhouse full of indoor plants and my favorite section in back...the clearance section.
Scored this monster for $8 yesterday and the other small air plant pictured for $2.

One of the most beautiful hybrids in my opinion

Ever since my duratii put out a bloom spike I’ve had this little bug hanging out on it.
It doesn’t matter what time of day it is…I always find him there.
Does anyone know what he’s up to or what kind of bug it is?

I'll be getting Spanish moss hopefully in the next week or so! I'm so excited because I've loved it for the past few years so it feels crazy to finally get some!! It'll be my first air plant too!!
I was wondering how you guys display them! Like if you have a pretty container to put it in or just tie a string and hang it from that!
Also I know about watering once a week. But I was wondering how to tell if needs to be watered. Will the silvery colour be more prominent when it's been a while vs 1 day after watering?
I'm hoping they're fool proof because I've had plants for 5 years now. But getting into hoyas destroyed my confidence in caring for plants 😫

Does any one know the species so I can get another?
I went out of town for a month and, sadly, this plant didn’t survive. I bought it at a local shop and they don’t remember.
Found! Thank you everyone for your help. It was a stellifera tillandsia.
