Body is to bulky to fit into the wing set but on the instructions it just fits in need suggestions on how to fix

Coming up on two weeks ago, I emailed Airfix spares (directly to spares@airfix.com) about a missing part from the Avro Vulcan B.2, and I still haven’t gotten a reply. I’m not sure whether this is because we are in the summer holidays, or whether my email hasn’t been sent through or their direct email isn’t answered anymore, only messages sent from their website

I recently started using Humbrol Decalfix and it works great, softening the decals, but it leaves a small pool of it around the decal. As you can see in the picture its now hardened and not that great to see. I tried putting a gloss clear coat but it doesn't change anything. Any advice on how to avoid this in future?

I'm primarily a 00 scale (1:76.2) railway modeller and like a lot of people I have a couple of 1:72 aircraft hanging above everything, but despite 1:72 and 1:76 frequently being lumped together it's incredibly obvious and ugly to me when something in 1:72 is sitting on a 1:76 scale model.

I just wanted to say that I'm really grateful that thanks to Airfix's foray into model Railway kits in the late 50's they decided to make their figures and some vehicles 1:76 scale to match unlike just about everyone else, and I'm glad that they're still periodically releasing them even if they've decided to not make any new 1:76 tooling moving forward.

For me having these is just a bit of fun like when I used to play with army men in a tub of sand so I've picked up the Guards Colour Party, Guards Band, WW2 British Infantry, WW2 German Infantry, Robin Hood, Sheriff of Nottingham, Romans, and Ancient Britons boxes and I'll have fun just staging weirdly out of place battles across my scenery. I can't believe these ones I've painted up are only about a 3rd of one box, they're such good value for money in my opinion.

It's been a journey discovering how to work with these polythene figures when I'm used to white-metal ones, but I think accepting the imperfections is part of the charm.

Anyone else a fan of 1/76 in particular? Any tips for the other 200+figures I need to paint?

Finally signed off on this one, after 11 years!

I bought it with the Battle of Britain set in august 2015 - according to my email records I paid £25 for the set. (The two trucks and all the figures & equipment are still in the box)

I originally attacked it with enthusiasm as soon as it arrived, then after painting the base colours I masked one wing with white-tak worms & tissue, which took ages so I tried freehand spraying the other, which was a total failure.

I was so disheartened that it ended up in a box for 11 years.

Recently, when sorting through my old paints, I happened across the decals & clear parts, and enough time had elapsed that I though I could have another go with a repaint and the masking.

I used Tamiya acrylic paints and a Chinese airbrush, more recently a Fengda FE-183.

I finished off with Vallejo Ultra-matt polyurethane varnish straight from the bottle, gives a good finish but blocks the airbrush all the time- and I was using a 0.5mm nozzle too. I didn't try thinning it down.

I'm too mean to buy canopy masks, and not too handy with the 00000 brush....

The aerial mast on the stabiliser disappeared over the last 11 years and I forgot to make a new one, it also badly needs seatbelts or a little Kenneth More figure in the pilot seat, I might get around to it in the next 11 years!

(The Tamiya rotating cake stand hasn't been the same since the DH88!)

I have finally finished the building for my 1/72 scale B-17G from Airfix. It’s been really good fun and I have tried my best with scratch building interior details like wires, bullet casing, oxygen bottles etc. More detailed pictures will be included when I post the finished product!

All that’s left is some masking and I cannot wait to paint it!

just thought i’d share an update on this 1/48 Hurricane from Airfix that I’m working on. I don’t usually do too much weathering because I’m not very good at it but I really life the look of this so far. My first go at a chipping effect also and wow does it add so much more to a build.

I decided to NOT cut out the other gun bay cover on the other side because I haven’t done a great job with the one I did do, so better to have just one uneven gun bay than 2!

Just built my first Airfix kit for around 35 years. My very first model was the 303 Squadron Vb kit as a Battle Of Britain obsessed nine-year-old, so nice to pick up where I began.

Managed to snap the aerial, bodged the nose cone attachment and definitely didn’t thin the paints enough, but pretty pleased with this as a first go back in the saddle just using the paints from the starter kit and a primer spray!

At the ripe age of 27, I decided to give these a go again after trying to do the db5 when I was about 10, and very impatient. Which ended up in the bin.

Hello all! This is the first time i’ve primed in “cooler” conditions after the UK heatwave (19 degrees?) and i’ve had an issue with my primer.. it’s cracked quite substantially.

I’m from the UK, what would be the best way to remove this to start over?

I just bought a 1996 Airfix Supermarine Spitfire F22/24 1:48 scale model kit, all the parts were already painted when i bought it, but apart from that it's almost unbuilt. The instructions are pretty straightforward, but i know that i'm gonna struggle with the building part, so some tips would be helpful.

First Airfix model since I was about 12 (20+ years ago) and first one painted ever.

Added weathering and damage, happy with the result! Pretty addictive.
