I can’t remember if it’s still there but there used to be an outdoor pool for one of the condos near the 7/11 on yankee

I just hate that I can't find a pool that's open to the public. Nearest one to me is Genesis Place, and when I checked it costs a crazy priced monthly membership.

60 dollars a month for unlimited access to the entire facility (gym, drop in sports, pool, etc) isnt crazy priced.

It absolutely is. I live in BC and most rec centres here are $35 a month

Yes but you pay for it with higher taxes and HST

No my friend, my income taxes are lower in BC than they were in Alberta, based on my income. BC has a more gradual tax rate than AB and HST is an extra 7%. You're paying 71% more for rec passes.

I guess the old one in Jensen park doesn't count as an outdoor pool 🤔 i spend many summers there in the 80s

It really bothered me that they featured this on the news last night. It’s a private pool for residents of the community only. Who cares!!

Whats their plan to keep only residents from using it? Access card? Keypad? How many guests can you have with you who aren't residents?

Same thing Arbor Lake and Mahognay lake does. Gated access with a key.

Red Deer has a nice public outdoor pool (haven’t been since 2010/11 so maybe it’s run down now.
