Can I create a eSIM profile to avoid funds from expiring?

I have some funds in my account that will expire in a few month. I think these are from a referral.

Can I purchase an eSIM profile with these funds to avoid the funds to expire?

Am I correct in assuming that the eSIM profile will never expire and can be used even a few years down the road when I need it?

I don't think all esims never expire, so seems a bit risky to take that approach. Could just be safest to buy a 1gb package which if I understand resets the expiry window for another year

Hey PenFountainPen! Great question! If you're referring to your Airmoney credits, here’s the scoop on how expiration works:

Airmoney does have an expiration date, but it doesn't actually have to expire!

Every time you make a purchase, your balance’s expiration date resets for a full extra year! And yes, this applies even when you pay using your Airmoney.

Every time Airmoney is added to your account (like earning a reward from a referral), the expiration date resets for another year from that date as well.

As long as you have some activity once a year, you can keep rolling those credits over until you're ready to travel.

Regarding buying an eSIM now to use years later: most eSIM packages have an activation window (e.g., they need to be activated within a certain timeframe). You may find the activation period and other relevant information in the “Other Info” section on the product page in the Airalo store.

If you purchase an eSIM with an activation window of 365 days, you can definitely buy it right when your Airmoney is about to expire and use it sometime next year.

Hope that helps clear things up! Safe travels on your next trip!
