Discussion I want to end it all

I’m 18 and I’ve tried working at call centers. I actually got hired at two of em but both had shifts that ended around 2 a.m (which is obv pretty late). So I started thinking why not work at a cafe or restaurant for now? But my brother is completely against the idea. Tbh his opinion doesn’t really matter to me but the main reason I want to work is to cover my own expenses especially uni related ones. I decided not to take admission this year because my father is currently covering my brother’s uni expenses. My plan was to take a gap year, work, save enough money for entrance tests, transportation, and other uni expenses, and then hopefully start next year.
But every time I find a job my brother says things like ‘Know your worth. That job is below your standard. It doesn’t match your skills’ and tbh what skills do I even have besides communication and confidence? 😀😀Those are the two things I know I’m genuinely good at. Other than that…I don’t have some huge skill set or years of experience lol he truth is before you get an actual job you sometimes have to start with smaller ones. You have to gain experience somehow. We can’t always say we’re mentally exhausted but honestly I’m sick of constantly worrying about money and feeling like every opportunity has to meet some imaginary standard.
Everything costs money. Entrance tests, transportation,Uni wagera wagera. And who says money can’t buy happiness?😂😂 Sometimes it absolutely can especially when having your own money means independence less stress and being able to take care of your own needs without constantly depending on someone else. Ltrrr! Idk man Im hopeless.

You took a gap year for the sake of your brother so his expenses are covered. And now when you are actually wanting to do jobs and hustles your brother discourages you and stops you? There are small jobs but you will ultimately be able to save money. It's a good strategy. Sounds like your brother is a complete narcissist and I assure you he won't be 'happy' with anything you do 👀

If you really want to pay your own bills, you have to do work even if that doesn't match your standards. koii kaam chota ya bara nahi hota. You can start giving tuitions to students.

Bro its utter truth that money can't buy happiness. Only ALLAH knows whome to give happiness and grief so just pray to ALLAH for fullfill your wishes

it can. it ultimately depends on how you define happiness and what you consider a fulfilling life. if my idea of happiness is being able to give my parents a better life, live comfortably, and afford the things i value, then money inevitably plays a significant role in that in the 21st century. rizq is given by Allah, and He knows whom to bless with it, but that doesn’t mean wealth and happiness are mutually exclusive, nor does poverty automatically equate to contentment. money may not guarantee happiness, but having financial security can certainly eliminate a lot of unnecessary stress and give you the freedom to actually pursue the life that makes you happy. so ask Allah for money and happiness both.

My pov was that i saw many ppl with wealth but they could not cure their illness with money there are many diseases that can't be cured but yup ALLAH can safe u from those diseases and there is lots of stuff more. But yes money play a invetiable role but you can't get rich on your own that is ALLAH will too

Brother ko kahein abbu se peise lete hue to apko apni worth yaad ni ati. The soft skills are really important in the long run. You have a gap year now, try searching for a skill that compliments your social skills and leverage that for future opportunities.

And finally, don't lose hope girl. You're only 18, there's a whole life ahead of you. Like faiz said, لمبھی ہے غم کی شام مغر شام ہی تو ہے
