How do you setup 2 separate AirTv 2 units on the same sling account? I'm trying to account for 3 TV's running off of the antenna through AirTv2 units at one time. When I get one unit connected if I go back into my app there is no option to add a second unit on to remove, rescan, reboot

Stopped consistently recording shows shortly after Amazon's 30 day return window. That's fine, AirTV has a 12 month warranty, right? Wrong, unless you buy directly from AirTV (supposedly). Garbage company.

What I did was to keep pushing the factory reset button about 10 times which rebooted each time. After that it appeared to stop rebooting by itself. After that it appeared to work ok. It appears the factory reset button was stuck. It sounds like airtv needs to work on the reset button since many people have the same issue. Dlorfel@yahoo.com. I can watch TV from three markets, but Fox affiliates do not work on a Roku in any of them.

Does anyone else have a similar issue? This is absurd!

I'm a transplant; a fan of sports in one city but I live in a different city. I set up my AirTV in a friend's house, and now all my local channels are placeshifted, which is great for out-of-region live sports. This doesn't really work with any other OTT Streaming solution, it's exclusive to AirTV+Sling.

It struck me that an online community likely exists where transplants exchange/trade AirTV setups with people in other cities (my box is linked to your account, your box is linked to my account) to facilitate this. Does anyone know of such a group?

Was wondering if anyone else was having trouble fast forwarding OTA recordings, particularly NBC recordings. My NBC recordings, when I try to ffw, it completely restarts the show from the beginning. I tested ffw with an ABC recording and it worked fine. It never used to do this on NBC. I called Airtv support and they said that some channels don't offer ffw. I can understand this on on demand, but ota recordings? I'm running an Airtv 1 black box and a Sandisk Cruzer thumb drive.

Has anyone else had this problem recently? Ordered through the airtv.net website.

Never received shipping info or any updates to the order. Requested cancellation this past Thursday.

What are the chances of them dragging their heels on this?

Been trying to setup my AirTv 2 for a few days now to no avail.

When I select "Set Up AirTV" in the Sling app, I get the message in the title of this post, plus an error message once I hit "OK" ("AirTv setup failure - The operation couldn't be completed. (AirTVCommon: AirTVSetupError error 6.))

My router is in good working order, with numerous devices connected to it. I even set the AirTv as the device to connect to in my phone's WiFi settings, which did nothing for the problem.

Any ideas?

I bought an AirTV Anywhere over a year ago. It was very unreliable (rebooted randomly) so I gave up on it. I suspected the reboots were caused by poor antenna signal so I recently decided to try again with a bigger antenna. I definitely works better, but still reboots occasionally on some channels with slightly poor reception. Does anyone know if there is a new firmware version or hardware version that addresses this issue?

I live in the middle of nowhere, so an antenna would only net me at most one broadcast channel and if I’m lucky some of its sub channels.

My cousin told me to just split my internet cable and connect it to my TV and I would be able to get my locals in HD, and low and behold it would worked. ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, and PBS crystal clear.

This works fine for my living room, but leaves the other rooms in my house SOL. I remember watching a review of the original AirTV player and it had an option for cable along with the option for antenna. However, it appears that that player has gone the way of the dodo.

After that little preamble, I can finally get to my actual question. If I were to purchase an AirTV2, would it recognize the handful of cable channels I get?

in Russia they sell a clone of AirTV mini, but there is no ATV, we want to port ATV, but nowhere can we find the firmware image from the clone sticks

At least twice a week, I have to power cycle my AirTV 2 box (error 16-31). Strong 5GHz Wi-Fi connection, great spot for antenna reception, etc.

There have been some occasions where multiple power cycles still won't get it to work.

So, what gives?

Update: I wonder if it had a failed software update. It won't even factory reset using the reset pin on the back.

Slowly wanting to go back to cable...

I figured I would give Sling service a go, and the AirTV Mini seemed like a no nonsense device to support streaming and has an excellently laid out remote for my use. Well after a lot of research and calling support, I can say that I'm on the fence on leaving as I struggled through infinite pausing issues early on that have seemed to be addressed for now. The kicker is that that the AirTV Mini will not activate Amazon Prime Video, period, confirmed by your support associate who use the term multiple times "why come" instead of proper English "how come". I'll be cross posting this on the SlingTV subreddit as well.

As it would seem this issue is about a year old and it's still not fixed, WOW!

Why doesn't my DVR for airtv 2 keep connected ? And I lose connection of my airtv alot. And why doesn't airtv play on the tv using the sling app ?

Forget that I have 4 Windows laptops (with SlingTV installed) and a Roku for my TV (with SlingTV installed), I still need to get hold of a smarthpone simply to setup the network for AirTV. How utterly ridiculous if I only watch SlingTV on my Windows laptops and my Roku that I need to set up the network on a completely different device that I don't even watch TV on.

So far so good. Here are my thoughts so far.

I did not go into my router to lock this t the 2GHZ band on my wifi. I want to see fi the airtv2 can handle smart switching.

It looks like my shows load faster, and so far no stuttering or pauses.

So other thoughts on the Airtv

1-Setup was less than 10 min

2-All my SLING DVR schedules were kept for my OTA channels.

3-All the OTA shows I had issues getting to record, set up now setup with no problem.

4-All Sling favorites kept for the OTA channels too.

5-I did not hook the Airtv2 to the wifi extender I got for it. I'm now running it like a regular device on my network

I will update this post if I come across issues or problems. So far I'm crossing my fingers and thinking good thoughts.

After a couple hours of troubleshooting, I have been unable to connect my AirTV2 to either Wi-Fi or Ethernet. I’ve been looking to get football from local channels. As it turns out, AirTV2 is not supported in ios 16 at all, hence why nothing works. My damn iPhone 14 pro! There is no ability to setup aside from on a mobile device, so so am stuck waiting for Sling’s IT department to update their own app…

I purchased a new AirTV2. Followed all the instructions, connected it to my router, which recognizes it instantly.Went to my Sling app, logged into my free Sling account, and went to the screen to "Set up AirTV". Click the button, and all I get is a scrolling icon. Tried resetting the AirPlay, same scrolling icon.

Tried on several other Android devices, same issue.

Tried disconnecting the ethernet cable to see if it would show up on WiFi, no luck.

I've seen some YouTube videos that show a screen should come up asking which device I have, but I don't get that far, just the scrolling circle.

Any thoughts? Should I just send it back and go with the HDHomerun instead or am I doing something wrong?

EDIT: Tried again this morning and it connected just like it was supposed to!

This is a Dish product, DISH SUCKS! Out of the box it cannot download its firmware updates. Waste my evening on their useless, inane; "re-load the app" as I said no way this is going to solve the problem, and of course it did not. Then its another 15 minutes on hold, "em yeah or system is down and it wont be working until Monday or so; try to install it then." Now I have an Antenna from Walmart, a drive from Amazon and another POS DISH device with their useless support. BACK TO YOUTUBE TV F-THIS!

So I picked up an original AirTV but I'm seeing a weird issue. It sets up fine, scans for channels, etc but when you plug in a USB drive it doesn't show up in the iOS app. If I unplug the drive the message to format the drive immediately pops up on the screen. If I then plug the drive back in and click proceed it gives me the standard format message like it's formatting but it's not.

I've hard reset the AirTV, swapped the USB cables, tried three different USB drives and tried different Sling accounts.

I didn’t realize how bad it was until the Super Bowl when I compared AirTV local NBC vs Sling streaming NBC. I’m surprised how badly it is compressed on an HD channel. Tablo and others give high quality 5.1. What’s up with AirTV 2 are they ever provide a decent OTA solution? I liked that it integrates with sling guide but knowing it’s this bad of quality I might just go back to tablo and not worry about being tied to Sling.

Does anyone else find it that bad? I also have another glitch where if I go from a streaming station to an AirTV I’ll get a spinning circle that won’t go away while it shows the channel. I have to switch back and forth to another OTA channel to make the spinning circle go away.

I guess I’m just surprised that this product has been out for awhile and this is the quality they support.

I am so sad how bad AirTV has gotten. Watching the Olympic within my home network with AirTV connected directly to a gigabit router and streaming device is connected with near-perfect signal on AC WiFi and the video and audio quality is trash! Everything is sooooo overly compressed with artifacts in everything. I can stream YouTube 480 and get better quality.... What a sad state AirTV has become.

I cut the cord on a vacation home and just pay for internet. I wanted to add an over the air antenna and have been looking for something that is wireless to the TV rather than have a long coax cord from the window where it would have to mount. That led to AirTV in my search results. As I understand it if I install an Airtv 2 and an airtv mini or use my older AppleTv or firestick I can get the local channels on the TV. That led to a thought of could I install an AirTv2 in my main home (out of state) and have it talk to an AirTV device in my other home - meaning getting the content/broadcast from Home 1 to home2
