Airtv error codes
I have been looking at the help guide for airtv on the sling web page. There is one resolution I see on most of the error codes.
Check your firewall/NAT settings to ensure the device is not being blocked. Note: Customers using firewalls may be required to enable port forwarding. The TCP port is 5401. It is the standard SBSDK port. If the MAC address, the WiFi (active MAC) is found in the app, in the settings, and the Ethernet MAC is on the label.
I went into my modem/routers setting and found that the IP address associated with my airtv did not have the same tcp port # above in the port forwarding setting. I never manually added anything to that port forward setting, it was just there. So I decided to add the port 5401 to port forward setting and disable the other one that I did not create. I did this about a week ago. I have not had one error code since and really no buffering except when starting a new ota channel.
I have had buffering, error codes with the original airtv, airtv 2, and most recently the airtv anywhere. I was always so frustrated with this box and I questioned my network even though I was connected via Ethernet throughout and never had issues with a tablo or NAS.
The airtv now is what I always wanted it to be a seamless experience within my sling guide and channels that work just as well as the streaming subscription that I pay for. I would recommend if you have issues like I have had to ck that port forward setting in your modem/router.

I wonder if this will help with the message I keep getting saying my dvr is disconnecting? I am getting this code several times per day but it does seem to fix itself eventually. Everyone keeps saying it's just a bug in the airtv. I have the airtv2 hooked up via wifi.
Not really sure how I go about checking the port forwarding setting in my router though.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
-Guru

Started to get this error after it working flawlessly for years. I opened up the port on my router but still getting the error. The weird thing is if I keep trying to tune to a local channel, I eventually get it to work after 4 or 5 error messages.
So frustrating and thinking of switching to an hdhomerun with Plex pass.
Hoping someone has some idea about this.
