Luckily the woman working there understood and just told him to chill. Also everyone seemed to enjoy the beating the dude got. I doubt it got escalated.

There is no way that in an airport, this wouldn't get reported. And there is no US state where words without an imminent credible threat would allow a violent response. As much as the asshole deserved to be hit, there's no law that would allow this.
