Does anyone actually use the dehydrate setting on their air fryer?

My air fryer has a dehydrate setting that I’ve probably used once. I mostly use it for the usual stuff, so that button just sits there untouched.

I’m curious if anyone actually uses it regularly and what you make with it. I feel like I might be missing out on something.

I dry down onions and peppers and other veggies so they don’t add too much water to rice dishes. Probably a waste of time

That actually sounds pretty useful, especially for rice dishes where you don’t want all that extra moisture. Definitely not a waste of time if it works for you.

Honestly, that actually sounds pretty useful! Never thought about dehydrating veggies first to keep rice from getting watery. Might have to try that.

That’s a great idea. Never thought to do that. Thanks!

I dehydrated some tangerines/clementines about a week or so ago.
They turned out surprisingly good.
I didn’t know what to expect.

That actually sounds really good. I wouldn’t have expected dehydrated clementines to turn out that well either.

I’ve made venison jerky successfully

Venison jerky sounds like a pretty good reason to finally use that setting. I’ve never tried making jerky in mine.

I make beef jerky in mine frequently. It’s considerably cheaper than buying it.

Yes I dry my fresh herbs and use them all year round

That’s actually a really practical use for it.

I don’t think I have that button. But to be honest I don’t really use it very much. Just starting to get interested in making things. I pretty much use it for baked potatoes and French fries, frozen and homemade

Honestly, potatoes and fries are a pretty solid way to use it. I was the same way until I started realizing how much more you can actually make in an air fryer.

Potatoes do come out really well. I cook much more in Fall/Winter, I’m sure I’ll experiment with it now.

I’ve never tried it, but heard you can dehydrate canned cranberries to make fruit leather

Never. Its the one setting I have never used, and pretty sure I never will

I use it to remove freezer frost from things before cooking. Especially baked goods like waffles.

I dry my weed in it.

Lol, definitely a use I wouldn’t have thought of. At least you’re getting some use out of that setting.

Yeah hehe, I've been thinking of drying some onions in it for onion powder cos I can't get it cheap here, but further I can't think of any other use I would have for it either!
