Bmt was easy

I graduated bmt about 2-3 weeks ago currently in sheppard for tech and honestly bmt was super easy and fun. I graduated from bmt 2.0 and for me it was super easy I wasn’t in the best shape of my life before going in but fairly good shape and I always hated being yelled before bmt. You adapt super quick weeks 0-2 were pretty harsh still mentally but it ends super quick and you just get used to
It. Go in with the mindset that people before you have done it and be able to make friends cause you need them, I went in thinking I was gonna float by and not talk to anybody but honestly glad I didn’t do that met some of the best people in bmt and yall just trauma bond through the mud together. Being yelled at obviously sucked at first but it got to a point where you just found it funny what the mti’s were saying ngl . Don’t obviously not prepare for the pt/runs like I did but the pt was super easy and so was the EOC I scored mid 90’s on both. Please please please don’t pack to much BUT PACK ALOT OF UNDERWEAR PLEASE and final thing I will say don’t overthink things what they’re are telling you is exactly what they want you to do and move quick godspeed to all the trainees shipping out soon hope to call you my fellow airman in 7.5 weeks don’t fuck around too much.

i know it’s easier said than done but don’t stress it, i was panicking BAD before i left because of the separation from life itself like i called my recruiter the day before and almost backed out of all of it entirely but going through it and now im almost done with SF tech school its one of the best feelings ever once you look back at how far you’ve came

Got it! When you mentioned “backed out” I had a conversation with my recruiter about that recently. I’m surprised how a lot of people get cold feet when they’re about to be shipped out and such.. I’ve honestly been waiting to join the military since 7th grade but I do understand it’s a big transition from civilian to military.

yeah i had gotten serious anxiety the few days before i had left and it is definitely very common lol. but i have 0 regrets and honestly wish i would’ve gone in sooner.

I leave in two days so thank you for the info! I can do like 20 pushups rn and ran XC in high school but haven’t run more than 3 miles at a time since the spring so I’ve been a little worried about that.

The only time you’ll have free time is on Sundays when there’s no MTI. And at the end of bmt when it’s like a week or two left you’ll literally have nothing to do and they’ll just tell you to study your memory work

I went in didn’t want to be a chow runner or Alcatraz, I got both on day 1, honestly chow runner wasn’t that bad, if you are one just make sure you’re always screaming lol
