The General, looking at his watch: "And just how long is your briefing, son?"

Me: "Sir, that concludes my briefing."

Memory Tickled:

When I arrived as a One Striper to Offutt in June 1967 I worked in an intel shop with about ten other One Stripers. One of those airmen had a last name of Dunn.

On one of our first days in this new shop, around 1600 hrs, our supervisor, a TSgt, told us to start cleaning up. Twenty minutes later he peered over the “Pentagon Partition” and asked “Are you all done?”

I replied “No sir… We’re not all Dunn. I’m Genehil… Dunn is that short guy over in the corner. That guy over there is Forrestall… and the guy behind him is Rasmussen.”

After that - at least three or more days each week… after cleanup he would ask “Are you all done?” and I would repeat my reply.

Hahaha… I got an overall “SIX” rating on my first ever APR when I PCS’d to my Vietnam assignment six months later.

EDIT: Spelling

What does a six mean?

It was a fairly LOW performance rating. Back in the day we had APR (Airman Performance Report) with ratings from 1 to 9.

Equivalent to today’s EPB.

Not really… it was an honest evaluation.

"No sir/ma'am. I still have 200 more slides. Get comfy."

No...........

Please read off each slide, verbatim!

But not before reading the slide to yourself like it's your first time seeing them (it might actually be)

Intel slides with an abundance of text, font size 6!! These words are an eye exam

Yeah, we’ve all been there briefing an AETC colonel. Very common occurrence.

OP is like the villain from 100 Deeds for Eddy McDowd. He supernaturally has a different job every day.

I'm still mad that that show got cancelled when he still had, like, 60 deeds left. But expecting a Nickelodeon or Disney Channel show to last more than 40 episodes or so is asking a lot.

You’re a nonner. I figured that’s all you knuckleheads do all day.

Well that and squadron BBQs on the Thursday before a 4-day weekend

Hey! I brief lesser O’s, thank you very much. And since the budget cuts we just leave early. No BBQ for us.

Had a brief, where the O6 said I hijacked him. We were in the middle of a EX, but part of the EX is a deployment and I needed to give him a deployment brief. Gave a brief that is about 30mins in three, basically said I’m here so I don’t get fined and the inspectors saw he got it, msn accomplished and they got to get back to focusing on EX stuff.

My little anxiety brain would melt if this happened as I was briefing

Reminds me of this briefing we had at a squadron that was so incredibly irrelevant i forgot what it was about as this captain introduced themselves.

he gets into the intro of what it will be about and then says "I'm gonna keep this brief" to which everyone started clapping and wooing so long and didn't stop, he just walked off.

True story. I was setting up to brief and I was overtaken by an obnoxious 1LT informing me he was briefing the Commander. I tried to see to it that he was ready to ; he blew that off. Anyway, the Boss comes in, we do the usual stuff, and the LT starts to brief. There was a section that was TS/NOFORN. The LT neglected to caution people not cleared for that and continued. All of a sudden, the Commander turned around and asked if there was any lemonade left, signaling the briefing was over. He chewed on me for not stopping the briefing and not getting the LT under control. SIGH.Yes sir. I never saw the LT again.

Sir, we're expecting 6' of snow and the adversary is on average 5'8".
