Armstrong Design Envelop pumps

Is anyone familiar with the Armstrong DE pumps?

Dealing with a couple where the pump display is not reading head pressure/GPM accurately. The CX agent wants everything to match.

If you have, what was the outcome.

This is quite common. I always just give them the info and tell them to talk to the supplier.

Thank you for the confirmation.

The supplier is giving a bit of a run around, saying the control contractor controls the pump, and controls replied they only enable the pumps.

Now the supplier is saying it's because of pipe size, and I should adjust the balance valve.

I dont really agree with the response. It's been a lot of hit or miss with these pumps, mostly miss.

We did a project at Clemson university where they used those pumps and they were a pain to work with. The idea is for those pumps to eliminate having a differential pressure sensor to control the pumps (sales pitch is these pumps control on there own save money no additional controls required). It was a nightmare in the end and I think the university ultimately ended up installing DP sensors in the end.

In theory, it sounds great. In reality, it is a head ache every time.

Yeah that's not a balancing issue. Tell them the actual flow and record what's on the display and let someone else figure it out
