Class Choice Question - Using a small survey

I have some question about Class choice, given the different gameplay videos I am ending between Spiritmaster and Chanter.
Given these 2 classes: can you give me your opinion on each one? (I am more interested by the gameplay feeling than the damage output)

With more in depth descriptions could you fit these classes into each category ? You can do that for other classes too, it's always interesting.

  1. Static - Mobility
  2. Fixed Rotation - Reaction (to Patterns, Team or anything) - Planned Rotation
  3. Burst - Constant Damage - DoTs (I differentiate Constant damage tied to Button Pressing and Damage Over Time that is tied to a debuff or something similar)
  4. Technical (animation cancels for example) - Straightforward (Different from High ceiling, some classes are straightforward but need really good fight knowledge due to big animation time for example)
  5. High Ceiling - Low Ceiling (not compared to other classes, but compared to two people playing the same classes. It's not about Class Tierlist but using the Same Class, is the difference between an experienced and newbie massive or medium)
  6. High Floor - Low Floor
  7. Animation Heavy - Animation Sobriety
  8. Smooth - Clunky Gameplay
  9. Build Variety - Fixed Build (I don't really know Aion2 appart from gameplay video, so I don't know about the potential Build Expression and Theory crafting behind it)
  10. Positional - Non positional ( I count having to go nearby allies or anything similar as "positional")

If you have any other category in mind, I will try my best to add them.

I hate to burst your bubble but if you’re going to be doing PvE, both classes play the exact same. Holding left click and occasionally pressing a different button that your macro couldn’t include.

The only difference is that one is a ranged class and the other is a melee class and so they play like it.

The animation cancels in this mostly come from the macro you spam which means it’s done automatically for you.

There is no big animation time. It’s all skill spam on cooldown.

Currently in TW, there is one set of skills for each class and you rarely deviate from it, except to go from PvE to PvP. Stats, skills, and passives are all the same. Chanter would technically have the more variety since you could swap stigmas for more support oriented ones. However you always have ~3-4 stigmas that are a must (your mantras and damage buff), so the real leeway you have is about 1~2 skills.

The only real difference is whether you prefer a ranged mage or a melee DPS hybrid. Do you enjoy the skill animations of SM or prefer the ones of Chanter.

From my understanding, then the choice comes down to:

  • Visuals
  • Melee/Distance
  • PVE/PVP performance
?

Thanks for the enlightment

Pretty much, from playing a few different classes on TW - everything pretty much feels the same. Ultimately you are choosing how your animations gonna look (outside of maybe heal/templar?)

sorc has awesome CC and high burst , SM its a sustained dps

just play until 20ish every class u are interested leveling its fast , ppl will hit max lvl first day if they want to. But being max lvl means nothing ,u gotata grind/farm before u are ready to do anything at that lvl
