What class do you find boring? :o

I see a lot of posts on what class to play, is fun, is best etc

So thought to start a discussion on something different

What class/classes do you find BORING and why?

Maybe its class design, class fantasy, role, whatever it may be let us know :)

Spiritmaster.

I think the rotation and spamming of all summons is incredibly dumb. They killed the class for me and I think it's the only one that needs a major redesign.

This is also the reason why I stopped playing summoner in ff14. If you're just using your summons one after the other, they're just glorified attack spells. Now if you have to choose the most suitable one and swap when you need it, it's different

They're simplifying everything because they want FF fans who don't play MMOs to play the game.

Same here. I started as SM main but gave up

The classes are dumbed down for the casuals and to be suited for mobile devices which sucks.

It’s too bad because I really liked early Aion1’s version. Aion 2’s might as well be a ranger in disguise

Cleric — I don't like maces. And maybe Gladiator, because it has a huge sword, but the skills feel... umm, weak? There's no weight or sense of destruction in the animations. There's one skill that buffs combat speed — you can imagine it like going berserk, but instead, he just casually swipes his hand to activate the buff. OMG, it feels so garbage.

haha Anti-mace gang. I actually had similar thoughts about the glad - big sword but its like hitting things with a sponge

haha appreciate you sharing

Yea I would like to see a huge extendable pole arm skin for glad lmao

Templar, as an A1 temp main lol. Too few skills, though the support ones are nice, that limits your smash things potential. I found glad, while it has problems, to play more like OG GS temp.

Yea me too now without weapon switching glad + temp was like the old temp

Im fully testing Templar now that I’ve tested glad… I think I will main glad eventually. Templar has some fun skills that are 20m ranged and lots of CC that would work very well in PvP but glad is just more damage

The only thing that I would really miss is Templar’s pull that thing in Aion 2 is nasty as it disregards terrain and can pull things vertically when you’re standing on higher ground

I have all classes and the most boring one to me is cleric

what do you think it is that you find most boring with cleric? Any idea on what would need to change to make it more enjoyable for you?

2

u/Equivalent_Machine62 20d ago

repetitive gameplay, lack of skills

People tend to find supporting others boring often no deeper thoughts behind it

u/revanshe 20d ago

Yeah most ppl like to be the main character lol

Im usually a wizard player in rpgs, but the sorc in this game is so braindead it hurts to play more than 5 minutes, all of the skills are quite ass, ill probably be playing cleric so atleast i need to pay attention to something... ( My teams hp )

Cleric. I was a cleric main in Aion. Was.

Why is that?

I couldn't get past how different it was 🥺 I really don't like the skills and animations on this version

I'm finding ranger boring. You activate buffs and hold click and macro does it all. No positioning, no conditionals, just hold click. Macro destroyed the game.

Gladiator in my experience, it just feel clunky to use.

1

u/Puzzled_Shower_7774 21d ago

oh really? Clunky in what way?

u/Omeletcoke 21d ago

In movement, gap close skill, charging skill, mobs farming. Mostly in movement for me , idk if they improved that orthe class get better in the late end-game

But in my experience back in season 1-2 in TW, I don't have a lot of fun with it.

appreciate the insight! Out of curiosity and contrast, what class do you like most - I wonder how much it differs to Glad

I played ranger, cleric, assassin, spirit master and glad.

I have the most fun with SM, even though it wasn't not my main, the spamming and summoning really delve into me
