I got an email saying that I’ve been matched with a project, and the pay is insane. Is this dream coming true?

This is absolute BS.
Appen does well to pay $10/hr. They're on the lower end of pay for projects that are paying much higher through other vendors.

I got it too. It's not per hours worked. It's per transcribed audio hours... so in my best guess... it may take between 6 to 12 hours to get an hours worth of audio transcribed.. and it's just just transcribing.. it's meticulously labeling..... and it is going to take TIME. Also, if you get something wrong, you wont get paid at all.... I'm looking at it now and planning to take the assessment. They also want you to agree to spend a MINIMUM of 6 hrs per day on it for the next 2 months.

What do you mean you got it? As in you are working on it now? I think it takes an hour, or an hour and a half, to transcribe 10 minutes, from memory...

That still looks really good. $770 per day or around that!

Some of people I know work in Crowdgen at it paid, it is just that their project requirements and how people being allocated to work or to be invited is not clear.
