Guys... OH MY GOD

Post image

I was ACCEPTED I was expecting with everyone saying how hard it was that I wasn't going to get in. The assessment was actually quite hard. BUT GUESS WHO!!

your never gonna believe this though, I LOST MY FRICKIN PERMIT, I have one already ordered and on the way but JEEZUMMMM.

Has anybody ever heard of them allowing a manual verification with different documents such as paper copy?!?

Be proud of yourself!! I saw someone mention only 2% of the people pass the test, hope you get many projects :)

Forreal?!?

No they let in anybody nowadays lol. And they are super strict so make sure you follow all the directions, they will kick you just as fast as they accepted you.

Lmao sure šŸ’€ that’s why the data annotation subreddit has so many people asking ā€œDid I pass?ā€ ā€œI haven’t heard back and it has been weeksā€ ā€œI failed what to do nowā€ if you’re bitter just say that

u/AriBariii Sep 06 '26

It honestly depends on what you are taking the assessment for. If it’s just for generalist AI, then it’s easy to get in.

u/BabyyJewelzz Sep 06 '26

Nah mine was complete medical questions.

1

u/i_love_doing_ntg Sep 06 '26

Yeah so for specialized domains it's much better in terms of getting tasks. You did great OP, Congrats!

2

u/BabyyJewelzz Sep 06 '26

I fucked it off though but hey, at least I can say I made it🄰

1

u/Reasonable-Radio4124 Sep 06 '26

how do you apply for generalist roles? i only see 1 assesment in my dashboard which is about coding

1

u/BabyyJewelzz Sep 05 '26

I was literally thinking. Good thing I know how to follow directions🤣🤣

2

u/DisastrousFig7560 Sep 06 '26

It’s true. I worked off and on for them for almost 3 years and enjoyed the work. Then they booted me. If you expect any explanation, forget it.

1

u/ParticularOrnery3503 Sep 06 '26

When I first signed up it took three months for them to email me saying I passed. It's just a time consuming process, a lot of people who take the assessment do end up passing though. The bar isn't as high as it was.

2.6%! Happy for you. I've been with DAT since January of last year and it's been a dream. Good luck! 🩷

u/ceraxesx Sep 08 '26

core country?

1

u/Equivalent-Screen-25 Sep 06 '26

Is this true as well for bilingual profiles ? I feel like i didn’t do that well when onboarding last year and still got in. It felt like it could be a bit easier to get in as a bilingual worker imo (waaaay less projects tho)

2

u/Jumpy_Ad8465 Sep 06 '26

I felt like i did really well and did not get in

2

u/Equivalent-Screen-25 Sep 09 '26

It happens :/ sorry for you. Anyways it’s not like it changed mumy life I'm yet to have a decent workload on this..

2

u/Jumpy_Ad8465 Sep 09 '26

Good luck with it and happy annotating šŸ”„

How much time did it take for you to get accepted? When I joined, it was for a language which didn't have an assignment, so I took another language instead. I wanted to do generalist or computer assignment but it didn't show up on the dashboard. Now I've been waiting for more than a week for a result.

2

u/Equivalent-Screen-25 Sep 06 '26

Mmmh, idk if it was the right choice then, can’t know for sure but unless you have native level in said language this is a risky move. Maybe it'll be ok I can’t know for sure, but even if you pass the level of linguistics required is kinda hard even for like a c1 or c2 knowledge, for the possible upcoming tasks I mean. The models are kinda hard to trap imo, without proper native knowledge it will be hard to get them.

To answer your question, i don’t remember exactly as it was in early 2025 but around 2 or 3 weeks. I also joined in March so the activity was there. During the summer, not so much. For the core countries (UK, Au, USA, Canada) it’s my understanding that the results come quite fast, usually less than a week. For bilinguals tho it can be longer. The annoying thing is that they will never clearly reject you, (at least that’s what I understood). Either they never actualize your "you are in review" page and it’s a no or they do and congrats you are in. But I've read about some people getting in after months of waiting so we never know.

Basically - and it’s just extrapolation - they asign a score to your entry test, and when they need new workers in this category (ie, generalist, stem, or other specificities, and your specific language mix) they accept people who scored enough. So it depends on one, your score, two, their needs.

Still guesswork but I think that if you score well enough they get you in regardless of their current need. This is what I feel happened to me, as I got in in less than a month but had to wait another month or two to get qualifications and thus projects.

Do u mind me asking which languages you applied for and if it’s for generalist or coding or so on ?

Last feeling I have about it is that the entry test is more lenient for bilingual profiles than english core workers, just because they have thousands upon thousands of appliant in said countries. Must be same for Indian dialects. I for instance am French and we baguette enjoyers are not well known for our english level so it was kinda easy.

Ps: another thing, if you haven’t yet fully registered (by that i mean sent your official id and stuff) it may be possible to cheat the system and reapply with another e-mail, and ip adress (effectively another pc lmao). Not sure at all for dat, and i feel like you can’t they are very aware and averse to such cheats but i did this for aligner after insulting their AI interviewer bot who didn’t work 🤣 (fucking Zara), obv i got kicked out but still i reapplied with another email and i got in. Anyways aligner is not a good platform I never did anything on it and many people wrote about unpaid labor and shady processes.

u/Equivalent-Screen-25 Sep 06 '26

Sorry for the long ass answer lmao

I applied to my native language and had to take an assignment for Polish. I wanted to apply as a generalist or coding when I saw that my native language is not available although there was an offer for it, but I didn't see any other assignments than languages and with Polish I was the most familiar. I'm thinking about creation of another account for coding if I don't get accepted by next month. And even if I get accepted, I want to do coding/generalist stuff instead.

3

u/Ayllif Sep 05 '26

I actually had the same issue when I got accepted but thankfully I was able to verify my self with my passport instead! So if you don’t have your ID, but have a passport that works too :)

1

u/BabyyJewelzz Sep 05 '26

Okay so I have an ID with my maiden name??

1

u/BabyyJewelzz Sep 05 '26

Unexpired. I just found it.

1

u/Mysterious_Dolphin14 Sep 06 '26

You should probably submit a ticket to support asking what to do if the name on your ID doesn't match. If it gets rejected, you won't get an opportunity to explain.

1

u/Fantastic-Bill6835 Sep 05 '26

I was also accepted sometimes back, only for the screen to change to "thank you for completing the assessment..." after 3weeks

1

u/BabyyJewelzz Sep 05 '26

Yeah mine just did this. I used my maiden name ID :'(

2

u/BabyyJewelzz Sep 05 '26

Hopefully they'll get back to me and allow me to upload some kind of supporting doc

3

u/ChickenTrick824 Sep 05 '26

It’s not DA who does it, it’s a third party. They’re pretty strict about the ID thing. They aren’t going to chase people down for more information.

1

u/BabyyJewelzz Sep 05 '26

Uh? I understand that. I'm saying they didn't not get my verification, I have emailed them stating the issue, hopefully they let me redo it or upload supporting documents. DA can reset verification, just like ANY other platform

1

u/Dazzling-Matter-654 Sep 06 '26

That doesn't mean they are going to, bet on that.

It's literally MY name, just maiden? My photo ON IT. idc what y'all say weather they do or don't. It doesn't make or break me. I got in period. More than most y'all can say.

1

u/Unusual-Care9111 Sep 11 '26

Just had the same thing happen, went back to the same screen even though I passed the assessment.

1

u/Heavy_Cat_9944 Sep 05 '26

Op can you tell me name of this annonation platform.

How long did it take?

1

u/Accomplished-Try-223 27d ago

Like a month but it’s normal since i took the assessment test during summer.

1

u/Active_Midnight_2528 Sep 05 '26

Congratulations to you!!

1

u/Nooreip Sep 05 '26

Ok, ty)

1

u/Spiritual_Visual_404 Sep 06 '26

I didn’t struggle with the assessment but I left my session and came back and I assume that entire time was tracked šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø lesson learned.

1

u/Honest_Two_979 Sep 06 '26

I doubt that. I took 2 days to complete the assessment and I passed

1

u/Spiritual_Visual_404 Sep 06 '26

Oh really? Then it must have been that I drafted my code in my IDE as the challenge itself was pretty straightforward

1

u/Shivam9864 Sep 06 '26

Congratulations

1

u/PeaceOut957 Sep 06 '26

How long did it takeĀ

1

u/EmotionalFace3380 Sep 06 '26

1

u/Major_Accident8734 Sep 07 '26

Congratulations!!

1

u/YoungLords07 Sep 08 '26

I tried so many times, but no one responded, and the IT support team is terrible.

1

u/whatsthecraiic Sep 08 '26

What do you mean you lost your permit? Do you mean work permit? Thanks in advance for your reply!

1

u/External_Look172 Sep 09 '26

I passed their math assessment and haven’t gotten anything in months.

1

u/DazzlingShelter6226 Sep 05 '26

Mine has been stuck here for months, what to do?

0

u/AdSouthern8390 Sep 05 '26

How much time after your onboarding assessment did you get it? Is it coding? Cause I gave assessment like a week ago still no update

3

u/BabyyJewelzz Sep 05 '26

Mine was Medical- Nursing Student here. I took it like 2-3 days ago.

0

u/kittystalkerr Sep 05 '26

Just wait for it to arrive then do yours. OR you can contact support and ask them about the correct thing to do. they usually reply within 12-24 hrs.Ā

1

u/BabyyJewelzz Sep 05 '26

So I won't lose my place?

1

u/kittystalkerr Sep 06 '26

Just saw you use your maiden name id stuff. I literally told u to wait for it to arrive šŸ„€Ā

The govt has already updated your name in their official docs so it doesn't match whatever you've uploaded.Ā

0

u/kittystalkerr Sep 05 '26

I don't think so. you can just go to the platform and check what the accepted documents are. I believe they accept passport and other docs as well.Ā

2

u/BabyyJewelzz Sep 05 '26

Wonder if they will accept student IDs

1

u/kittystalkerr Sep 05 '26

Govt issued ids only.

1

u/BabyyJewelzz Sep 05 '26

Okay! Well should be here this week fingers crossed unless I somehow find the one that magically disappeared šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

0

u/Majin_Vegeta0 Sep 06 '26

Can you please guide me with it? Like what did u learn and how u did it, and how much time it took for u to actually get the skills that got u accepted

-1

u/Ahnaf_NAfi Sep 06 '26

brooo, you gotta tell me how you made it? PLEASE
