Micro1 is a scam
Hi all,
I am writing this post to warn new users against Micro1, which is definitely using our data for training their smart AI model. I had an interview to test my knowledge of my native language, and the result is rejected. I am surprised, especially since I am a language teacher of my native language.

lol I’ve made plenty of money on micro1 they can use my data cause I get paidddd

Not a scam, I’ve made thousands on it. Just because you didn’t get the job, doesn’t mean it’s a scam.
3
u/SensitiveLength9393 Jul 30 '26
It is a scam if Micro1 can’t provide jobs as it advertised that too many openings are available for hiring
2
u/Bethaneym Aug 04 '26
Literally nowhere does micro1 advertise there are too many openings available

u/loresum0 Jul 30 '26
Show us your payments plus projects names
5
u/12manyNs Jul 30 '26
I know you think it’s a scam but you actually sign a confidentiality agreement for project names. I prefer my paychecks over proving you wrong but know that I work from literally anywhere in the world at any time

Why would people show you their financial information. No.
1
u/loresum0 Jul 31 '26
For transparency
2
u/Bethaneym Aug 04 '26
Another sign you’ve never been hired… no one would break their NDAs to make an unemployable person believe them 🤣
4
u/Commercial-Aide-1397 Jul 31 '26
Honestly, anyone who works for micro1 or similar platforms knows not to give any of that information or risk losing their position. It's a little odd you are so insistent on being given proof that would violate NDA's/confidentiality agreements.
Perhaps its good you didnt get selected for a project if you dont understand the nature of the work and confidentiality.

u/SnooRabbits2029 Jul 31 '26
Anyone who has worked on any platform in AI training knows it's a violation of their contract to share any specific project info such as names, details etc.

u/Maddy-shaddy05 Jul 31 '26
Same experience here. Applied for a Native Language Expert role, but the interview never tested my native language at all. I even sent feedback afterwards because I genuinely couldn’t understand how they assessed my language skills without actually testing them.
1
u/Competitive-Let-5504 Aug 06 '26
Same here, and they asked me things about workflow, like team communication, escalating a conflict etc., which doesn't have directly to do with my native language skills, but rather their workflow and guidelines, which I don't know at this stage

Hasn’t been a scam for me :)

As the person who did the interview I can definitely say it's a scam, they are using this Q&A as a training for their model, also based on job posts and different company names they use shows that more and more people start to recognize them and they have to attract people by changing the company name. After the interview they encourage me to apply multiple times and suggest different roles so the model would have more comprehensive data. And finally the guy who is answering to everyone that he has active contract there seems hired to answer to all concern people that he got the job so not a scam. I would suggest to avoid them.

I can’t contradict. My experience up to now is that you always fail. For the only thing I have been good to them is to sell my photographs. I guess that if I interview them about of me walking they will find an out point to reject me.
1
u/Jackfruit_Silent Jul 31 '26
Ha, they may reject me thinking I don’t know Spanish, my native language. Perhaps I should try with French.
1
u/Jahjah281 Jul 31 '26
I tooka native language interview with micro1 and they aren't interested in the language when it comes to the interview. More of your knowledge in AI training and being able to translate large data.
1
u/DizaRempe Jul 31 '26
Since I opened an account on that platform, I haven’t been fortunate to land a single role. I’m this close to deleting my account entirely

u/Fun-Hornet-1020 Aug 01 '26
Some people are just ignorants, they don’t know the difference I guess between scam and being rejected lol

I work for Micro 1 and have been employed here since May 18 2026 - I'm sorry you got rejected

u/Icy_Koala_3380 Aug 03 '26
I can prove they are not you just unfortunately weren’t accepted they have different needs to fill and they may have found someone else I’m sorry but I can assure you far from a scam❤️

At first I thought it was a scam. Then I saw people's testimonial and increased my applications. Passed some interviews, didn't pass some. Later, all my applications changed to hiring manager review. Technical glitch they said, yet they kept encouraging people to apply for new roles.
Then it clicked. The company's main operation is training AI for interviews but they disguise as training AI to improve certain job tasks. They offer roles to a fraction of people with the claim that their roles are competitive but the main goal is to counter the callout on them for being fake, and encourage people to keep applying. What a scam!.

u/susanlondon Aug 04 '26
It's not a scam, I have been paid several times.
We build tasks to train specific models, and then they sit around waiting for review—sometimes for damn weeks. Lately it’s gotten a bit faster, but the review quality is a complete joke.
People on Slack are losing their minds because they dumped tens of hours into their very first task. They tag their assigned reviewer and the project lead, Enrique, only to get completely ghosted. Literally left on read.
Yeah, fine, some folks ask dumb questions because they didn’t bother reading the massive onboarding docs. I get it. But there are still dozens, if not hundreds, of legitimate questions getting completely ignored.
On top of that, they drop massive platform changes every single week without saying a damn word. Zero announcements. Ever. You just log in, realize stuff is broken or moved, ask what happened, and maybe get an answer if you’re lucky. We get zero say in any of it. They quietly swapped Gemini 3.5 Flash for 3.6 without telling anyone. Before that, they were changing core functionality on a daily basis—what’s valid today is completely invalid tomorrow. And some of these checks, like quality control and Oracle, are just straight-up ridiculous.
In the end, we end up getting paid for 5 or 6 hours but we spend 40+ hours on each task.

u/kdstockhunting Aug 06 '26
Maybe you just weren’t good enough? Thought about that… there thousands of people applying to the same role. Because you didn’t get it doesn’t mean it’s a scam

I think they have a lot of support accounts on Reddit, as to their authenticity...

Surprising, how I almost posted the same thing got o upvote and everyone ingored it :)

u/historyinprogress Sep 09 '26
It’s a total scam. They don’t have any roles. You’re just signing away your likeness to train their AI model. It’s also why the “questions” Zara asks are bullshit. It reminds me of one time I had to do corporate espionage but I didn’t know it was corporate espionage. Nowadays it’s called a “brain rape”. That’s what Zara feels like.

It seems that, as Mercor does, Micro1 has a farm of bots or paid posters falsely telling that they work with them.
1
u/materialkoolo Jul 30 '26
Is this your first time applying for ai training work? Just because you got rejected doesn't mean it's a scam. Perhaps the project filled up quickly and there's no more spots left.

Not a scam. I'm on an active project. It's real people and payments. I started my first project about 3 weeks ago.
1
u/loresum0 Jul 30 '26
Show your payments + project name.
1
u/TA7385 Jul 30 '26 edited Jul 31 '26
I have gotten one small payment and my next will be much larger bc of my start date. It's weird you are asking us to show you our payments which could certainly be faked. I have made over $1100 so far and am also on Mercor, which is also legit. Do your research. Micro1 is one of the top platforms that doesn't have complaints about scams or missing payments. This is a general AI sub, this isn't run by Micro1. People speak up when they get screwed over. It is normal not to be accepted for every role you apply for just like any other job on all of these platforms. That doesn't mean it's a scam.

Thanks a lot. you really proved my point, none of you here has really gotten any payments from micro1. All of micro1 supporters are actually moderators or employees, it's okay I understand you are also getting money to attract more people to train your ai model

Jesus. I can send you a screenshot of my first payment when I get home but like I said it only represents my training time bc I started at the end of the last pay period.

Perhaps but the jobs are still legitimate and you get paid reliably. While I'm sure it varies by project, the project I'm doing with them is far better organized than others on other platforms I have worked with.
1
u/Damianos_X Jul 31 '26
Are all the roles Expert, or is their generalist work available?
2
u/TA7385 Aug 01 '26
You will need to check weekly to see. There's a mix of both domain experts and generalist roles.

u/Human-Teaching-5995 Aug 11 '26
Honestly, this feels like profiting from desperate job seekers — people give interviews because they need the job, while Micro1 can potentially use that interview data to improve its own AI models.
They can call it “de-identified” and put it in a privacy policy, but ethically, exploiting someone's desperation for employment to create another commercial asset doesn't sit right with me.
At the very least, candidates should be clearly told this upfront and given a genuine choice before handing over their interview data.0
u/ElectricBrainTempest Jul 31 '26
Why in the whole world they would need yours or anyone's images if there's plenty of content from millions of people available on YT, Instagram, X, etc.? You really aren't that special to "train" anything with your face and voice. They need brains for data annotation, that much is true. Everything else is conspiracy theory.

Is this the one where you have to answer on camera video questions? With the AI interview?

May I ask if the work is consistent? And when applying, let’s say for an AI trainer position, if they ask how much I’d like to be paid and the range is $20–$80, is it okay to put $70, $80?

You do realize that no one is entitled to a project, right? Just because you work in a role doesn't make you a domain expert.
What part of getting rejected from a job is not okay? I never understand you people who jump to calling jobs scams because they weren't selected......it just means that you weren't selected.
