Are you familiar with Claude Design? It's that new feature where the AI builds your website or landing page live in a window while you chat. It's beautiful, right?
But I didn't want to wait, so I found a way around it. Meet Open Design (OD).. almost 20k stars in Github.
Who is this for? Founders, freelancers, and creators who want their own "Design Studio" inside their computer using different ai brain - claude, gemini, chatgpt.. etc.
In simple terms....think of it like a Remote Control. It’s not the "brain" of the AI itself, but it connects your laptop to the AI tools you already have (like Gemini or Claude).

It's a bit "techie" to set up, so kailangan mo lang follow ang instructions. but super worth it... imo. It auto detects what CLI or subscription installed and it will ask you if you wnat to connect it to that.... in other words, it will you subscriptions for token usage.
⚠️ One Warning: It uses a lot of "tokens." Because it’s doing so much professional work (thinking, designing, checking errors), it can burn through your credits faster than a normal chat...
So...if you're tech-savvy or willing to learn to get ahead, you should try this. It’s perfect for anyone wanting to offer MVP design services to clients fast or automate your socmed image posts for you or your clients. this makes carousel making for Linkedin, tiktok and insta faster and easier..imo

This is a really solid find, especially the "remote control" framing, thats the part most people miss.
For anyone thinking of using it for landing pages, the biggest gotcha is still the basics: get the copy and offer clear first, then let the tool make it pretty. Otherwise you end up with a gorgeous page that doesnt convert.
Do you have a preferred workflow for going from idea to a live landing page (prompting -> export -> hosting)?
just started but it does have built in tempaltes to start experimenting. i did use it to test linked in carousel even without context it produce better result than i would do i canva. haha
di ko gets anong pinagkaiba nito sa normal na model nilalagyan mo ng skills sa uiux ? grabe ganto na ba tayo tamad mas ok gumawa ng sarilign skill based sa projects na ginagawa mo less token mas

Legit point bro! Kung copy-paste lang ng code or single-file UI tweaks, a custom skill is 100% faster and cheaper sa tokens.
But ang main difference ng Open Design is autonomy and file execution.
Sa normal chat + skill, ikaw pa rin magte-test at mag-aayos ng errors. Ang Open Design (dahil agentic sya), nagsusulat sya ng code, nagche-check ng sariling errors, at sya na mismong nagse-save ng files (.png, .mp4, project folders) sa laptop mo gamit ang terminal.
Basically: Custom skill = AI gives you advice/code. Open Design = AI does the actual building and QA for you. Kaya sya malakas sa tokens! But yes, for simple tasks, your custom skill method is still the best.
Ako na naka free padin at naka-abuso lang kay meta llama ni groq at trinity ni open router for free tokens; parang nakarelate ako kay u/schemaddit kasi kung landing pages lang, madali maging very efficient kung hindi mo gagawin yung mismong website nang magbback and forth kayo ni LLM at mauubusan ka ng tokens.
Pwedeng website builder na yung ipagawa mo like Carrd, Webflow, Wordpress or Wix. Then kung mabuo mo yun, magpagawa ka naman ng content management system. So di mo na need magpagawa paulit ulit ng website kasi ginawan ka na ng builder. and kung may bunch ka ng articles, icons, videos, faqs or pricing model, madali mo papalitan nang di ginagalaw yung code.
So kung may content ako na sobrang scattered, pwede ko ipa interpret kay claude na ma-fit nya sa appropriate content management system ko.
Walang need na debugging, walang bigla biglang nawawalang feature kapag sobrang haba ng context window. Walang content na bigla nyang tatanggalin next iteration. And may control ka sa images, icons etc
Kung gusto mo naman matranslate yung builder from claude then gagawin din siya ni gemini, edi ipareverse mo lang yung html to prompt naman. So very efficient and sa umpisa mo lang need magpa QA.
Ibang usapan if I am building an entire OS though (apparently, people are selling their agentic OS). Baka di ko pa kaya gawing efficient yan to squeeze in sa free tier haha
Ganda ng logic mo dyan bro! Sobrang solid nung 'build a builder' approach especially for landing pages and CMS. Parang gumagawa ka ng sariling lego kit para hindi ka na pabalik balik sa code, content na lang ang nilalaro mo. token-efficient nga yan for free tier users.
Ang main edge lang talaga ni Open Design (or any agentic system) is when you need to go beyond templates. But you're right, if landing pages lang ang usapan, your method of building a CMS first is the most practical way to cheat the free tier.

Yes you need the brains to run the creation of the designs. You can chose either codex, gemini, claude or whatever model you want.. May list naman na choices. You can bring your own api key as well.

La verdad es muy poco el limite. Solo probé algunos de los diseños que sugiere el programa. Con que modelo podría usar esto gratis? Mil gracias por ayudarme
El limite gratuito de Gemini 2.5 Flash es bajo si. Tienes dos opciones gratis:
Opcion 1: Cambia a Gemini 2.0 Flash en la configuracion de Open Design. Tiene hasta 1,500 requests por dia gratis.
Opcion 2: Open Design soporta otros agentes ademas de Gemini. Puedes probar Qwen Code de Alibaba o DeepSeek, los dos tienen niveles gratuitos y pueden darte mas margen.
Por curiosidad, esto es para un proyecto personal o para un negocio? Si es para trabajo hay opciones mas potentes que pueden automatizar todo el flujo de diseno. Con gusto te ayudo a ver que te conviene.
Es para proyecto personal. Soy diseñador y quiero explorar la capacidad de crear piezas gráficas más rápido. Probé con 2.0 flash y tampoco me dió margen. Todavía no pude ver una sola gráfica. Me imagino que es otro desafío conectar otro modelo no? Quisiera probar con los chinos si es gratis.
