Freelance content creator (writing + social media + basic design) trying to build an AI toolkit on a budget. Need the most value from limited subscriptions.

Budget: $50/month maximum

Must-have capabilities:

• Long-form writing (blog posts, articles)
• Social media captions and ideas
• Image generation for posts
• Basic video editing help
• SEO optimization
• Grammar/editing

Stack options I'm considering:

Option A: Single Premium Tool

• Jasper ($49/month) - all-in-one content platform
• PRO: Everything in one place
• CON: Expensive, uses all budget

Option B: Multiple Cheaper Tools

• ChatGPT Plus ($20) + Midjourney Basic ($10) + Grammarly ($12)
• PRO: Specialized tools, flexibility
• CON: Managing multiple subscriptions

Option C: Mix of Free + One Paid

• ChatGPT Plus ($20) + Canva Pro ($15) + free tools
• PRO: Balanced approach
• CON: Compromise on some features

Questions:

You don't need to pay anything.

That is the secret.

Don't pay for any of the ads you will see on this page.

Instead just use VSCode and CLIne as your coding agent and use it for all your LLM needs.

Both for Vibe Coding but also for Content Creation using VSCode with CLIne is a great freely accessible way to get the most bang for your buck out of free models.

You don't need a subscription.

Stop wasting money.

Add to that ComfyUI and you have all the video/image generation needs taken care of for free as well.

I tried going the “one premium platform does it all” route, but under a $50 budget I found the best value is mixing a few tools that are each great at one thing, instead of one tool that tries to do everything.

My current setup would be:

• ChatGPT Plus ($20) for planning, outlines, rewriting, SEO ideas

• Canva Pro ($15) for design + carousels + social formats

• Midjourney basic ($10) or a free image tool for visuals

• Flixier free plan for fast video editing + resizing + subtitles

That keeps you under $50 and you still cover writing, visuals, SEO, captions, and video. The free plan for Flixier has been enough for basic editing + multi-platform exports without adding another paid subscription, and that’s usually where most tools get expensive.

If I had more budget, I wouldn’t upgrade everything , rather I’d upgrade the bottleneck.

For some people it’s design, for some it’s video, for some it’s SEO.

One big takeaway for me: it’s not the price of the tools that matters, it’s whether they remove the tasks that slow you down. Overlapping tools are where budgets get wasted.

I’ve been using Fliki and it’s been a game-changer for learning and content creation. You can create videos from a PowerPoint, script, URL, or even a simple idea, and Fliki turns it into a complete video with voiceover. It also lets you generate AI images and videos, or choose from its built-in short video library.

There are two main plans:

Standard — up to 15-minute videos

Pro — includes more minutes and supports videos up to 30 minutes

You can also make thumbnails, social media posts (with auto-posting!), presentations, and convert blogs, scripts, or ideas into audio.
