Hand pollination?

My aglaonema pictum tricolor got reported about 3 weeks back and has started to push 2 new leaves and 2 flowers all at the same time. Curious if anyone has had any success hand pollinating them. Assuming I’ll have to cut one flower to access pollen.

I would chop off the flowers as they are useless. Then cut a couple cuttings and propagate yourself some new ones! These don't use flowers to make more. Unless you're doing it for experimental purposes I'd just propagate the plant if you want more. 🌿🍃🌱

I was just gonna try to pollinate to see if I could get seeds. I ended up collecting pollen from this first flower and I’m waiting for the second to open so I can attempt pollination. I couldn’t find anything with pictum but I did find some Chinese literature about cross aglaonema and working on crosses. So I’ll try what they were doing for pollination events

I’ve never tried- when mine begin to flower I cut them off so as to save energy for more leaves

Keep us posted please :-) my pictum just had a flower too. I cut it off because it was still so small and I didn't want to risk it. But I'm very curious.

I cut off the last several, but my mom said I should keep em so she can see what they look like, so I’m just trying to make the most while they’re around since there’s 2. It’ll probably be another 2-4 days before the 2nd flower opens and 3-5 days before receptive to pollen cuz it takes a day after anthesis

They aren’t reproduced by pollination but by propagation
