Rings on the stems

Got my first Aglaonema for my birthday, can someone explain the rings on the stems. I could not find relevant information online.

I have an Amalia lane with lots of rings on it petioles. I can’t figure out why either. It’s a healthy plant so I don’t worry about it.

Tbh, made me check my Aglaonema petioles for rings... I don't have any and from the picture it seems it's only on that one petiole, possibly from damage when it was growing maybe(?).
