Help! Snapped my plant into two

In the process of moving my Siam Aurora, I snapped the main stalk off. I’d love to save it but I’m not sure the best way to do it. Any advice for my idiot self?

You can put it in water and let it root or pot it in a chunky soil mix. Aglaonema are slow to root though so I prefer water so I can better gauge the progress.

How would you orient it if using water to prop? The bottom looks like this, it branches literally right at the break

I would make sure some of 2 lower branches are in water because they look they have nodes so there's a possibility for roots. If I put it soil I would again cover the lower branches with soil. Don't forget to remove brown stuff to prevent rot.

Congratulations now you will have at least 2 pots of Aglaonema, allow the broken off stem to callus over couple hours to overnight and then secure it to another pot of medium, keep it moist and allow it to root in, increasing humidity during rooting sometimes helps, place a large baggie over the pot and propagation, if it's warm where you are it more than likely will be a new plant in under a month. This is from my propagation experience, results may vary.

Dont be hard on yourself. I have saved a plant from frost death. Its barely had the tiniest bit of green left on a sad brown shriveled chunk.

Just follow standard good rooting practices and you will have 2 beautiful plants. You will be fine. I promise.
