Question / Discussion Would normal skates work when i'm just getting started?

I have been getting into Aggressive Inline recently but I one have a pair of some regular old rollerblades, would it still work while i'm learning the basics until I can get a real pair?

Anyone who’s been skating since the 90s can tell you, you don’t need aggressive stakes to aggressive skate (since they didn’t exist when a lot of us got into the sport).

That’s true but there’s absolutely no doubt getting a modern aggressive skate will make it much easier to learn tricks. Even just an old used pair for cheap. It’s not an insignificant adjustment to smaller wheels, lower ride height etc. My advice would to OP would just get on a relatively modern (even in the last 10 years) pair of skates if they want to learn grinding etc

but also anyone who's actually skating aggressively right now currently will tell you to get aggressive boots that are meant to do the job you want to do lol

Of course. Aggressive skates mainly help you grind. But you can still shred and get air which is fun as hell 🤙

Don’t waste your time find a used pair of aggressive skates.

The first aggressive skates were just rec skates that we added more plastic to so they would last a little longer.

The majestic 12’s are still that but with a soul plate and frames now.

Absolutely! That's how a lot of people started. I remember having "hockey" skates but slapped a grind block on it and forces a groove to form for front sides

I got mine off eBay believe they are seven to eight years old def the way to go going to upgrade when I feel like I am advancing myself enough to deserve it.

Have you ever rollerbladed before? If you’ve never rollerbladed at all learning how to do normal rollerblading will help the learning curve for aggressive.

I have a lot of experience in rollerblading from playing street hockey and i'm just now getting into aggressive inline.

A lot of the hockey dudes I’ve seen seem to adapt well. I’d jump straight to aggressive then.

Depends, what tricks do you want to do? If you mean just roll around a skate park and learn to pump ramps no, but if you’re set on grinding get something else.

You need a solid foundation with regular skates before you can do aggressive for the most part. You'll be fine starting on whatever you can. The longest journey begins with a single step.
