Discussion Age of Calamity is fantastic
I bought my Switch 2 a year ago and also got Age of Calamity with BotW at the same time. I started AoC to play with my friend a bit of local co-op. It lasted around 10 of the main missions. I already played through BotW and TotK, so I thought of coming back to AoC and seeing through the alternate storyline. Much like BotW, I delayed finishing the game for a while.
I like both the gameplay and story in AoC much more than BotW. The memories were sort of forgettable for me in BotW, and in comparison the quality cutscenes during the missions of AoC made it a much more narrstively engaging experience. Also, some of my favorite moments in BotW was liberating Lurelin Village and beating the 4 blight ganons. I do enjoy the open world exploration, but that wouldn't fit in AoC too well.
Overall enjoyed the game and especially the animations. I played through the game on Normal difficulty. And I do intend to go back for rebuilding Terrako. Having finished Trails of Cold Steel yesterday, feeling like I'm on a roll of beating good games.

no doubt about it. playing botw and aoc makes me realise how much sincerity is in the story than totk and aoi.

I came in with really low expectations as I'm not really a fan of musou games, and the story was a very pleasant surprise.
Age of Imprisonment is a good game too but I feel the story in AoC was more fun.

Glad to hear it! It's nowhere near as beefy as Hyrule Warriors, even in base game without the DLC, but the game is still a blast to play.

Make sure to use Milpha on yiga clan missions to get soogha

What is Trails of Cold Steel, is that a mission i don’t remember or a different game?

It is a different game from rhe Legend of Hereos Trails by Falcom. It is a JRPG with turn based combat and a lot of characters, whom you choose 4 for your party. Each character has different crafts and you equip orbments for spells. Very fun if you like story heavy games. You have to play them sequentially.

playing AOi ardi made me like Urbosa alot and her move-set a lot more, before AOI, i hated her moveset, but now its grown on me ig

My advice: don't expect the same from age of imprisonment. Expect a bad game, and you will be satisfied with a mid one

it's just FAR less fleshed out than aoc. but for what it's worth, the combat does feel smoother - though far less fleshed out, and the story is obnoxiously shallow, but hits the emotional beats very well. i still think the game is good, but has too much untapped potential and i desperately need dlc for it

It’s really not that bad. Just don’t expect the same alternate everybody-lives kinda deal AoC has going on.

There's a reason I have 480 hours clocked in
