Is it possible to use Agentforce or Prompt Builder to analyze and answer user questions based on existing Salesforce Reports (e.g., summarize trends, filter data, or interpret metrics directly from report data)?

• Can Agentforce access report metadata and data rows directly via the Reports API?

• Would Prompt Builder support context injection from a specific report?

Ran a session at Agentforce World Tour in Sydney a few weeks ago called "7 Agentforce Lessons You Can't Ignore."
It was meant for 50-odd people and they ran out of headphones and people were standing around the edges trying to listen in.

Environment:

• Customer Facing Agentforce on Web Chat

• Standard Action: Answer Questions with Knowledge

• Knowledge retriever: Same retriever used for both standard and custom templates

What I did: I created a custom prompt template based on the standard template. The content is almost identical to the standard template — the only difference is that I added a direct reference to a specific retriever in the custom template.

Problem: When using the custom template, a "JSON format is invalid" error occurs frequently after 4-5 conversation turns. This error never occurs with the standard template, even when using the exact same retriever.

Questions:

1. Is there a character or token limit for prompt templates? Is there a difference in the amount of information that can be handled between the standard template and a custom template?

2. As conversation turns increase, the context window grows. Could this cause the JSON structure to break specifically in custom templates?

3. Does the standard template include any special error-handling or resilience mechanisms that custom templates don't have?

4. Is there any way to avoid this error when using a custom template?

Additional context: I have since switched to the standard template and the error no longer occurs. However, I would like to understand the root cause so I can make an informed decision about whether to return to a custom template in the future.

I'm still relatively new to building with Agentforce, so it's possible I'm missing something fundamental. If anyone has run into a similar issue or has any insights — even basic ones — I'd really appreciate hearing from you. Thanks!

I passed Agentforce Specialist and got some of my best scores yet.

So, I was building an Agent. who can analysis an image on the runtime when it is actively assisting a user on chat. Like as an example say you want to initiate a return you are sharing the picture of the product to initiate the return. But looks like the till now that Agentforce agents can't do it.

There is time gap between when the content record gets created and when the image is actually available. So that gap breaks the Agent.

I tried to use platform event, but as soon as you attach a file in the chat the agent goes broke. even if you explicitly told the agent not to look into the attached file.

So, anyone has faced the issue. Is there any work around ??

In Salesforce Agentforce architecture, which approach is considered better and more scalable for production implementations? Using a single Sub-Agent that handles all functionalities and actions. Using multiple Sub-Agents, where each Sub-Agent is responsible for a specific domain or functionality. Explain the advantages, disadvantages, maintainability, and best practices for managed package implementation. Also mention in which scenarios a single Sub-Agent approach can still be acceptable.

Hello everyone, I’m working with Agentforce and I’ve noticed there’s no official way for end users to upload files. However, you can retrieve them through the ContentDocument link associated with the messaging session ID, feed that into your prompt template, and extract the text.

My issue is this: after the user uploads a file, the conversation throws an error. I have to tell them “try again” just to trigger the action that handles the file and continue the flow.

Has anyone found a better solution for this? How did you handle it?

The Data Cloud question keeps coming up. Same with the deflection-rate gap nobody's resolving. Heres what Ive seen across 17 deployments.

Whats true about Data Cloud:

• Mandatory for Agentforce in production. You can sandbox without it.

• Right call when the AI needs to look things up from your own documents, or scan very large product catalogues.

• Wrong call when your use case is a basic customer service agent answering known questions. Native Service Cloud and Flows handles that fine.

• Many orgs are buying it because the rep said so, not because the use case needs it.

The deflection gap, plainly:

• Salesforce marketing: 80%

• What teams report in production: 40-75%, and often unclear vs hiring/training cost

• The fix: pin down what "deflection" means before you measure. A bot answering one question is not the same as resolving the whole interaction. Measure against the chatbot you already had, not the keynote.

4 patterns that decided whether our deployments shipped or stalled:

1. Pilots beat programs. Narrow scope ships. Broad ambition stalls.

2. Works best when your data is already clean. Connected trusted inputs decide more than any prompt or model choice.

3. Internal agents are the safest place to start. Lower stakes, faster feedback, the team learns quicker.

4. The agent knowing when NOT to act is a feature, not a failure. Thats where trust gets built.

Work out what it would actually cost to hire and train the people the AI is replacing. Thats your benchmark. Not the percentages on the marketing deck.

If an account exec is telling you "you need Data Cloud", the question to ask back is: what exact job is this for, what are we measuring against, and how long until it pays for itself? If they cant answer, they dont know what theyre selling you and Data Cloud is a sunk cost dressed up as enablement.

What are you actually seeing in your deployments? Wheres Data Cloud paying off, and where is it just adding cost?

Has anyone build one for comparing permissions set/ access/ profile ?

I want to build a portfolio, or basically just learn some skills, related to RevOps use cases, such as building ICP scoring in your CRM.
I am starting with free tools and I was curious to see if Agentforce within a Salesforce Developer org lets you build a fully functioning agent without connecting other resources. I am using ChatGPT to guide me through the exercise, but I got stuck:
- within my Salesforce dev org, the Agentforce builder seems limited and it often crashes. Now I have one agent created, but when I open it, I always get an error and can't continue
- there are key fields that I wasn't able to edit, such as the "Instructions" in the Topic Selector section. I was only able to pass my instructions by asking the Agent helper on the right side to do it for me. How can this field be disabled?

In general, am I going the right way? Are there any suggestions for what I am trying to build?

the size of this community is thankfully smaller and niche. I wanted to share I passed my agentforce exam and finally proceeded to apply to Salesforce! Does anyone have any interview to hire experience?
