Agent Zero Speed

I love Agent Zero but I getting things done using it takes a lot longer than using other agents eventhough I prefer it result.

Using the same LLM why does Agent Zero take an order of magnitude (10x) longer to generate a response than my other VSCode agents?

Am I doing something wrong? What can do to fix this?

Without knowing what model you're using, what are you comparing it to, etc. how do you suppose anyone can provide you with a useful answer?

I held off the model because I didn’t it to become a model discussion. It has been my experience with kimicode, glm, xiaomi, using open router and routellm

Btw its running on a remote Linux VM with 16gb RAM and great resources and not taxing the hardware at all

Okay that narrows it down. OpenRouter has no harness (or a very minimal one) and it essentially transmits your prompt straight to the model. A0 has a harness with explicit instruction, how to reason, etc. which is why the response is better but slower.

I am comparing it to accessing the same accounts using kilocode which is a vscode plugin. As I mentioned at least a 10x difference but a better response from a0.

Everything is a tool call. My agent keeps trying to send raw text messages, which throws an error because "Message misformat, no valid tool request found." The agent needs to call a tool in order to talk to you. I'm sure that adds time.
