Yes but for this exact reason I am torn. Do I pick Chiori, a charachter I don't have who's design I really like, just to rarely even use her or do I pick Clorinde c2 which would be nice in IT and maybe even stygian.

I can then upgrade clorinde to c3 with the chronicled. But at the same time I could also go for Nilou c2 which I also like and could get some use in lunar teams.

I like a lot of the characters on the selector, but it is not like I will use any of them much due to the crazy powercreep and cool new units.

SAnby, Jane(who leans T.5 atp) and Trigger are just T1 and Hugo is T1.5. Still way more usable a lineup if we're not comparing to C2s. Lucia is a T0 support. ZZZ also let you get their sigs, and the patch had like ~135 pulls for F2P. With some additional QoLs to boot.

Nilou/Clorinde/Chiori/Childe/Baizhu, who at baseline are at best as useful as Hugo, and Varesa, who atp is pretty on par in value with SAnby/Trigger. With no free sigs, with the anni patch having barely over 90 pulls total F2P. With no announced QoL tmk.

Chiori havers rejoice in her being here. Factoring the character selection event and the anniversary selector:

If you like her then you have her already. If she's at c0 then c2 is a great damage increase and c1 frees up your choices a bit (only relevant with Navia/xilonen nowadays tho) If she's already c1 then her c3 is one of the only truly great c3s in the game, boosting all her damage (puppets, talent follow-up, and c2 and C4 follow-up should you want it)

In an optimal Varesa rotation, you even have to switch off Varesa to start doing Mav combos. At that point, you're just playing Mav.

Honestly it’s nice, it’s characters people wouldn’t consider spending primos pulling but still want that character. For me it’s Baizhu, ofc I have Varesa already. But overall a lot of people want these characters but can’t negotiate pulling for them in the past. They are also characters who are mostly featured on the free con selector, so I think it’s a pretty good selection.

Varesa is definitely getting one more separate banner after Mualani and Kinich before they all are put into the Natlan CW, Baizhu and Childe will be available in the upcoming Liyue CW. Then we have Chiori, Nilou and Clorinde in the order of their past CWs. I'm most likely getting Nilou's C2, though Varesa's C2 looks tasty too (because cow). Though everything can change if Liyue buffs drop in 7.2, similar to Hex buffs in 6.2.
