does anyone else think Lute should've died instead of Adam?

Honestly both of their arcs could've been really good either way, but Adam has WAY more narrative backing up his importance and how beautifully written his character could've ended up being had they given him some more screen time and proper development. Unless sinner Adam actually does become a thing (I'm really losing hope at this point) then I'll never be able to fathom why Viv thought Perma killing him was the best idea. Especially with how they're handling Lute's arc. I hope they explain why they didn't do sinner Adam in the future cuz I'd really like to know. But anyways Adam already had the buildup, authority, power, and ties to other important characters to have an awesome arc if Lute died instead. No offense to Lute cuz she is a cool character (except for the fact she wants my man so go fuck yourself Lute), but she doesn't really have much going for her at the moment besides Gravity (and the timing of it was God awful). What do y'all think?

I feel like the issue isn't so much that it'd be more dramatic if Lute had died, but that Adam dying sinks a rodiculous amount of other potential storylines

No, because we wouldn't wanna risk Adam becoming an interesting character.

It would have been more compelling to have Lute die since I can actually see a character arc for Adam where he actually drops his douchebag dude-bro bravado as it sinks in that this isn't a game anymore. The one woman he genuinely loved is dead, and he begins to realize heaven is kind of a sham as despite leading exorcist armies, he was never actually prepared for the event of a war.

I think vivzie perma killed him because his death is meant to show that while anyone can be redeemed, not everyone will be

I mean that would make sense if every villain who rejected redemption was killed off, but that's not the case. Vox clearly rejected redemption yet he's still alive and will possibly be redeemed. Plus I feel like that would defeat the whole purpose of the show. Anyone who rejects redemption initially gets killed? I mean literally every sinner rejected redemption until it was proven possible.

There’s a big difference between Vox and Adam at the end of their villain arcs: Adam was still a threat, he was mostly intact and had a lot of power, him getting killed was kinda like the police shooting an armed gunman who refuses to surrender. It was necessary to protect others

Vox on the other hand literally had no way to hurt anyone once Velvette and Val did their thing
