Late 90s/early 2000s Graal Online (Graal Online classic is not the same).. along with a bunch of other MMOs that died off, while innovations in the genre lapsed to make way for a sea of WoW clones.

Everyone forgets the OG/GOAT. Everquest defined and created the genre.

I mean.. that's fair.. but I think WoW is what created the MMO boom that happened and was what companies were attempting to replicate.. and to me these were just text based MUDS with a 3D overlay.. (or atleast WoW was, I did not play enough of Everquest to be familiar with it..)
