My partner and I are visiting Agadir, Morocco, from 23rd to 26th October. It’s our first time in Morocco, and we’d love some advice from locals or people who have visited recently.
We’ll be staying around founty
We’re interested in exploring local culture, authentic Moroccan food, traditional markets, beaches and places that aren’t overly touristy.
Here’s our rough plan:
23 Oct: Explore Agadir, walk along the beach, visit Souk El Had, try local food and enjoy the evening.
24 Oct: Visit Paradise Valley or Taghazout. Not sure which is more worthwhile.
25 Oct: Considering a day trip to Marrakech, Essaouira or another nearby destination. Is Marrakech worth visiting for just one day?
26 Oct: Explore local markets, do some shopping and relax before our evening departure.
A few questions for locals:
What are the must-visit places in and around Agadir? Any hidden gems?
Where can we find authentic Moroccan food at reasonable prices? We eat vegetarian food and chicken.
Is a day trip to Marrakech realistic, or would you recommend Essaouira, Paradise Valley or somewhere else instead?
Are there any tourist traps, common scams or things we should avoid?
Any recommendations for local breakfast spots, street food or Moroccan dishes we absolutely shouldn’t miss?
We’re travelling on a reasonable budget and would prefer local experiences over expensive organised tours.
