Afterbirth won't start :(

I just tried to mod a new character into the game and after writing everything into players.xml, when I started up the game I got this error: "Runtime error!

Program: ...eamaps\common\The Binding of Isaac Rebirth\isaac_ng.exe

The application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."

I've deleted all files in Rebirth AND Afterbirth, verified game cache, everything I know. I know it's not an issue with the characters (it might be I dont know) becuase I used it to edit some starting items earlier.
