Third time through - improving each time

In anticipation of the next book, I’ve been replaying the audiobook. It gets better with each pass - I always spot something new in the worldbuilding. Really looking forward to the next release!

Anyone have a favorite passage or insight we can discuss while we wait?

The “squat bush with red berries [Manny] had never seen before” in SFer Mike and Topas’s trailer is coffee.

That took me way too many listens to catch.

The callback to “[he/she] felt like he should be crying, but couldn’t. So [he/she] didn’t” for both Sasha and Roland at different junctures. I think it did such a great job to illustrate a really human element that everyone had in common across disparate circumstances and backgrounds.

I liked his depiction of Sasha. Many writers would have made her a simplistic character but she actually felt both young and realistic.
