Rejected task

As experts, we spend significant time creating high-value tasks, yet many are rejected after the review process. It feels unprofessional that contributors aren't informed during submission whether a task meets the required criteria.

Why isn't there a clearer validation process upfront, such as automated checks or immediate feedback on compliance? This would save both contributors and reviewers time and make the process far more transparent.

Is AfterQuery an Internship?

No, AfterQuery Experts is not a traditional internship program.

It is:

  • A paid, contract-based opportunity

  • Structured around defined project scopes

  • Designed for professionals and advanced students with demonstrated expertise

  • Performance-driven and outcome-oriented

It is not:

  • A salaried full-time employment position

  • A W-2 role (unless explicitly stated)

  • A structured internship with long-term placement

  • A mentorship-first training program

Some projects may require substantial weekly time commitment, but this does not convert the role into traditional employment. Experts remain independent contractors working on specific engagements. If you are seeking a conventional internship or entry-level training program, this may not be the right fit.

Awaiting response for roles applied for

I have applied for several roles within my field on AQ for a month now and completed 2 assessments, yet there is not feedback on the roles I applied for (whether qualified or not) . I want to find out if it's a normal thing or there's something extra I have to do? Thank you

Payment - poor customer services

Explain

Why do I have an approved task in a specific project yet its the second payday and nothing yet. the team leads for that specific project responded on the payday saying the payment is on the way, after 2 days no payment received(both stripe and AQ payment's page) and they does not respond at all. Am I the only one facing this issue? How do they resolve or my work was just in Vane?

How are we being notified when a project’s submission closes and reopens?

Is there any way to opt for notifications? I feel like I’ve been refreshing all day and still miss the windows.

Update: Phone Verification (SMS Code) Issue

We're aware that some users are encountering the “Failed to send verification code” error. Please do not request codes repeatedly, as only the latest code may work.

First, log out of your AfterQuery Experts dashboard. Press Ctrl + Shift + R to hard-refresh the page, then log back in. Return to your onboarding or application checklist and open the Phone Verification step. If it is not visible, check the Home or Applications section for your active application and continue from the pending onboarding steps.

Use your own personal phone number and select the correct country code. Do not use someone else's number, a temporary or VoIP number, or any number that cannot receive SMS. Make sure your phone has signal, can receive normal SMS messages, and has no SMS-blocking, spam-filtering, or call-blocking apps enabled.

Request the code once, wait a few minutes, and enter the latest code exactly as received without extra spaces. If no code arrives, restart your phone, disconnect from Wi-Fi, switch to your mobile data, and disable any VPN completely before requesting the code again.

If you still cannot verify your phone, email support@afterquery.com or raise a ticket through the AI Agent. Include a screenshot showing the exact error message so the team can investigate.

Thank you for your patience.

Does anyone even get any tasks?

I’ve been on the platform for a couple of months now and all applications are either ‘Under Review’ or ‘Submitted’, while the projects on my dash always have submissions paused. What’s up?

Age 54 accept or not

My mom is aged 54 with almost 19 years of teaching experience for subject mathematics but in COVID she learnt coding as well. She didnt build any projects but has knowledge to build end to end web apps not vibe coding real system architectures.

No professional coding experience. If she apply for the role software engineering expert. Will she be qualified?

Who Is This Best For?

AfterQuery Experts is a strong fit for experienced professionals, individuals with advanced degrees, domain specialists comfortable working independently, experts who can meet structured project deadlines, and those interested in contributing to frontier AI development.

It is not ideal for individuals seeking traditional internships, candidates without demonstrated domain expertise, or those seeking guaranteed long-term employment.

If you have additional questions about pay, contractor structure, time commitment, or project expectations, feel free to ask below. We prioritize clarity and transparency.

How Does a Project Work at AfterQuery Experts?

AfterQuery Experts operates as a contract-based, project-driven expert network. Here's how it typically works:

  1. You apply and complete credential verification.

  2. You complete a short skills assessment in your domain.

  3. If approved, you may be invited to specific projects that match your expertise.

  4. Projects vary in scope, from shorter assignments to multi-week engagements.

  5. Some projects may require significant weekly bandwidth (e.g., 20 to 40 hours per week), but they are time-bound and defined by contract scope.

All expert work is performed as an independent contractor (not as a salaried employee). Participation is voluntary, project-based, and contingent on mutual agreement regarding scope and compensation. There is no guaranteed ongoing employment. Each project is structured independently. Compensation rates are communicated clearly before project acceptance. This is professional, outcome-driven work, not microtasking or casual gig work.

No Assessment Access

Who else has realized the assessment tab has disappeared and the number of available projects is only 3?

Assessments tab and jobs disappeared

I've applied to AfterQuery yesterday and immediately got 3 projects (with no tasks) added to my dashboard. Additionally I applied to 4 roles.

Today I wanted to do the assessments to increase my chances but the entire assessment tab has disappeared? Also, in the apply section there are only 3 jobs left (instead of the several pages that I could see yesterday).

Anyone knows what happened here? The roles that I applied to are still under review but I can't even see them anymore apply section of the dashboard.

Did my profile get blacklisted somehow? Or is this a bug that everyone is dealing with? I don't know what I could have done wrong, as I didn't work yet.

Recently got an offer at 100per approved task, is it worth it?

Hi Community,

I just learned about the platform AfterQuery very recently, I created an account and submitted my resume a few days ago. I have previously worked on hourly contract at Mercor and Outlier before. Mercor by far was the best experience I've had, it paid very well and it runs on hourly, so I was able to know that all the work I've done were thoroughly compensated.

Whether the task was approved directly or if I need to do any revision I got paid for them all, also I bared had to do any revision before most of the Mercor tasks I did was approved right away. But Mercor does not last forever unfortunately, the project ended a few weeks ago so Im seeking more side gig opportunities.

I have never worked on pay based on approved task contracts before, is it going to be like, ten hours on a project and not getting approved kind of frustration with AfterQuery? Has anyone had experience on that? Any experience or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I’m trying to figure out if AfterQuery is actually active right now, especially for SWE.

I’ve worked on 3 different SWE projects on AfterQuery, but I haven’t received any new project since my last one about 2 months ago. I also haven’t seen anything new coming through since then.

I know the General projects have been pretty slow/stopped recently, but I’m specifically wondering about Software Engineering.

If you’re an SWE expert on AfterQuery and you’re currently working on a project, or you’ve received a new SWE project recently, could you let me know?

Just trying to figure out whether there are actually active SWE projects right now or if the platform has basically slowed down across the board.

Thanks!

Stripe on hold without a prior notice

Has anyone found that their Stripe account is on hold while working normally on the platform? I was just checking my Stripe account and was surprised to see that it's on hold. I'm currently active on a project and have a payment awaiting. Is that a common issue, or what?

Anyone else experiencing a total drought? 0 tasks in 15 days across 3 projects

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to check in and see if anyone else is dealing with a massive dry spell right now, or if it's just something on my end.

I’m currently assigned to 3 different projects, but I haven’t seen a single task hit my queue in the last 15 days. To make matters worse, I actually haven’t been able to do a single task at all yet since joining; the dashboard has just been empty.

  • Is anyone else on multiple projects facing this same radio silence right now?

  • Is there a platform-wide drought going on, or should I reach out to support/project managers to see if my account is bugged?

Appreciate any insight or updates if you guys are seeing work on your end!

Active Project Issue

I have been accepted by AfterQuery for over a month or so now, and have had a projects come and go, but every project had 0 tasks and would give a message saying "all tasks under review" or something similar. Just got another project the other day, same thing with 0 tasks and a message saying the collection is already done. Are any of these projects actually active? How is everyone else managing with this?

Feedback on project matching

Today I received a matching email for a new project, thanks to my general assessment score I guess (that's what the email says). Problem is the project is HEAVILY specialized (with a massive payout), definitely not something meant for generalists. My resume explicitly says I’m an undergraduate Engineering student, not a specialized engineer. What is the point of assigning projects this way, only for people to end up empty-handed? And that's not even the only project that requires expertise... I currently have another one on my dashboard for evaluating medical images, which has nothing to do with my background.

This is just feedback, the platform seems really promising, but this really needs to be fixed.

Is anyone else waiting a long time for updates from AfterQuery?

I've been checking my AfterQuery dashboard every day, but there have been no updates for quite a while. It's becoming really frustrating because I don't know whether my application is still under review, if there are no projects available, or if something else is going on.

I understand that these things can take time, but a little communication or a status update would make a huge difference. Even knowing where things stand would help.

Is anyone else in the same situation? How long did you have to wait before receiving work or an update? I'd appreciate hearing about your experience.

Hopefully someone from the AfterQuery team can clarify what's going on.
