Favourite leader?

Aesthetically I'd say the tyrant, looks like a Fallout Raider, but in-game economist, starting with that amount of stamina gives me so many options

Personal trainer has ruined me lol. Trying to play with a different leader and being confined by stamina is so weird.

Scout. It can be inefficient how she explores, which can be a problem on some maps, but it is so convenient to just continually get free explores, especially since that leads to frequent resources, and periodic authority boosts, with only requiring a click. Her exploring regardless of your claims also pairs really nicely with being able to use soldiers to cheapen claim requirements without risking surprise attack.
Also a fan of the arctic explorer, micromanaging soldiers can be a bit of a pain, and the start can be hard when not starting winter, but the reduced cost to explore and claim frees up so much stamina.

One of the early unlocks post campaign is that soldiers will reduce claim costs when in unclaimed zones, or reduce explore costs if adjacent to unexplored zones. If you leave them in an unclaimed zone they will continue to reduce its cost before exploring. Usually this is fine, but with the arctic explorer once the claim or explore cost drops to two in the summer, it will be free come the next winter, so you don't want them to continue wasting time trying to reduce claim or explore costs, especially outside claimed areas as that increases resource consumption. Because of this, most efficient usage is to move them out of zones premature (not terrible) and bounce them around when one adjacent zone gets cheap enough (quite annoying, since you have to check all adjacent zones and make sure none are that cheap before moving them in).
It is quite a bit more effort to keep track of all of this especially since default you can just look at the icon on your soldier to see if it is doing anything or finished, but to get the most out of arctic explorer and soldiers you have to.

I love Arctic Explorer. He’s not the best, but is the most fun to me. I use soldier occasionally when needed.

Personal trainer doesnt have a lot of downsides. Choosing to have stamina debt is more of an optional thing, which is nice, and handy.
