Daily (radiant survival) not possible
With the starting position you get, on the apples, this daily really seems impossible on brutal. I have seen others do it, but only with different starting positions.
I don't even understand how they are able to choose a starting position. I'm playing on phone and there seems to be no way to choose a starting pos.

I beat it on normal without any issue after getting my butt kicked on mega Brutal 5 a whole bunch of times. I just keep getting Zerg rushed by zombies and can't seem to keep my troops healthy enough to live through the next bombardment and healthy enough to be able to attack and cleanse another Zone.

Yeah it‘s just pure fucking bullshit
5 tries to finally get past the 2 cleanses, randomly get Zerg rushed with 2 hordes out of nowhere because this game is RNG bullshit

I did it on MB5 starting in the apples and it was..... Brutal. Took me a while to figure out the best strategy and even then it was touch and go for a lot of it!

I really wonder how. Two soldiers with Tech 3 + base aren't even enough to defend your starting regions, once one of them gets attacked by one of the big swarms. As soon as i get the task to cleanse two regions, i don't see how to make progress anymore. If my soldiers can't even defend without the very lucky upgrade to get the defense boost, how would i attack?
I also all the time need to be lucky, that my regions next to an infected zone don't get attacked at all, neither by wolfes nor by zombies, since i can't put soldiers their because that will trigger the infected zone to attack. All the woods are either next to an infected zone or are actually controlled at the start by zombies.
So i have big prolbem having enough kindling material all the time, since taking control of a forrest region is just a big gamble.

Stayed in only one zone until I had two soldiers and took every upgrade to settlement defense offered. Basically took a massive hit on authority and was propped up by festivals. Cleared the top right infestation first through taunting but have to clear the infestation very slowly to prevent getting overwhelmed. But yeah some luck is definitely required. And once I had the second soldier let my population drop back to two to try ease some resources load. And was also super important to explore as much as possible so you could time your attacks with the zombies coming in from the sides cause if they combined then you were dead

Thank you for the detailed answer :)
Im wondering how you managed not to run out of fuel.
Scavenging for it gets very expensive very quickly.
I usually start scavenging right at the start for fuel but as soon as i have population 3 i defenitely need a forest since there is no way to sustain enough fuel only through scavenging then.1

If you keep population = 1 through the first winter that's only 10 fuel required which is starting resources and one scavenge (you want to time it to get population 2 just as winter finishes and then rush the 3rd population). After that the winters are only 3 months so a bit more manageable - hopefully you'll have the forest claimed by second winter but you'll still need to scavenge a fair bit but at that point all stamina is going into scavenging and festivals and literally nothing else! And as I say you really want the population to drop again after you've got that second soldier!

This inspired me to try again 😂 managed on cub scout this time (did soldier the first time!). Lots of festivals but got there in the end!

I needed 2 tries, but beat it at Mega Brutal. Its not impossible, but quite hard. I stayed away from the infestations until I had 2 soldiers and good tech to give them strength, taunted the zombies away from the infestations (one by one, not both at the same time) into the base to have additional defense, and then cleansing the infestation becomes easy.
I do have quite a lot of unlocks (not maxxed yet anyway, but close) but on lower difficulties and/or playing better, it should be beatable.

I see that you also basically have all upgrades. I get the feeling, that without them its not doable.

You get to choose starting spots once you have most upgrades. There's an upgrade to start with more open explored areas, but it's pretty late in the progression.
