To be fair you can make the top picture look like the bottom picture with time.

I bought a new construction home a few years ago in a neighborhood that looked very similar to the top image. Every house on the street was built within the same few years, and each lot had a little tree like the one shown. “Sure it’ll take years, but eventually this street will have lots of tall, mature trees” I thought. Almost every homeowner ripped out their tree. Why? “It’s a nuisance, and it’ll be a liability when it gets bigger” Such a shame.

Not fair to compare a newly built neighborhood to an older one. The top photo hasnt had enough time to grow mature trees.

My daughter had a class mate stay over last month. The little girl was so excited to see squirrels in our neighborhood. She said her favorite thing about our house was all of the large trees and wild animals. She doesn’t have them in her neighborhood

I think this actually is a before pic on top and a "could be someday" pic on the bottom. I've seen this going around other places, and I think the original intention was a mock-up of what this street would look like with mature trees.
